Birthday!
Blog
6th February 2020
Mum's birthday, today, so coding will be slow.
Thursday duties are all done. The newsletter was posted late last night, the ALChoon's online, and the Petit Switch game is more or less complete.
A relaxing day off!
Have a good day, everybody.

I made half a decent "Tanks/Combat" thing, in Petit Switch yesterday, but it's not quite right, and the collision detection is wonky as anything!

Each letter represents a different number from 0 to 9. Convert all the letters, solve the sum, and find the hidden word.

Todo list..
I have to finish off the Do game for Monday.
Today I need to start on a Petit game.
And maybe Friday or so, get a SpikeDislike mode added. Probably Basketball, as that's usually one of the first to get added.

Use the letters on the bottom to build as many words as you can. Try to find all of the pre-selected words at the top, to earn a "Win".
You can Play Words Within within the Words section of the Shoebox.

If you're a fan of Classic SpikeDislike, and miss those things that fly across the screen with the number of points you just earned, you'll be happy to know I've added them into SpikeDislike.com!
I've not yet added a menu option to turn them off again, though, so you'll just have to put up with them for the next day or so, depending on when I get around to doing that.

With the new SpikeDislike.com being in place, and me aiming to make the biggest, baddest, bestest version of SpikeDislike available, I've found myself heading back into the SpikeDislike2 folder quite a bit.

I've done a fairly significant upgrade to the way the Browsercade Onscreen Controller works.
The thing now has an 8-way kinda vibe going on, and "should" feel a little more playable than it used to be.
If you've been using the onscreen controller (tap the little boxy thing in the bottom left of the menu) and have any comments on this, be sure to let me know.
Thanks!

Good Game!!
Blog
30th January 2020
This week's Petit Switch game's turned out alright. It's not the greatest looker, but gameplay wise it's really nice and playable.
Odd thing is, that the player needs to collect batteries to keep their energy charged, but the game is called "Oxygen Depletion". .. I might need to rename it!
I'm slightly tempted to do the game for Browsercade, too, but I've been poked and prodded into Doing the Do, like Betty Boo, instead...

Lots of internal tweaks to the engine, today.
The game now records your highest combo, and places that alongside your highscore in the saves. This means that, when necessary, I can pop that up on the screen.
Your last score on the scoreboard is now highlighted and bounces to and fro, to stand out on the list.
I do miss having that in the Browsercade.
.. Maybe I should try to figure out a way to do that, but Browsercade's save data is there for lots of different types of games, and having a Top 10...

Another fun game we used to play all the time. Sort of like Dig Dug but I liked this better. Loved being able to throw the ball and have it bounce thru tunnels you made.

For the past couple of months, I've had the plan of a "One Touch Games" framework in mind, but couldn't ever decide on the best name for such a domain.
A week or two ago, I just figured "To hell with it", and opted for SpikeDislike.com instead.

Every week or so, I think about SpikeDislike.
How big it once was, and how abandoned it now is.
Going from it's hefty days back in 2011, when it actually SOLD a decent amount on iOS, to the current day where it's all been removed from the AppStore because I haven't updated it in years.
And yet, it's something I keep coming back to, and it has pretty much defined the sort of things that I've been doing for the past decade. Spike has whittled his way into becoming an alarmingly com...

Scrapped another game, last night.
That's about 5 games I've started and abandoned in the space of a few days.
I can't seem to focus on anything, at all, and it's getting rather silly.
Can I make an entire game, today?
Probably not.
