The classic returns. Trying out a new method of insanity, this time. There are pink pickups to grab, and also the occasional explosive device which will cause extra challenges along the way. Other than that, the rules are the same. Pop the Popcorn, and try to survive.

*shrugs* Gotta make a start on a Foldapuz game, today, but I'm at a loss as to what that might be. Currently thinking a cluster sort of thing, filling in the grid with letters to make groups of maybe 4 or 5 tile chunks. I think that'd word, but it feels like it might end up being too much like Rebordered. Not sure. Today's Plan. 1. Post Space Popcorn 2. Wake up my brain and figure out a puzzle!

OK, time for another game, then! Gotta keep coding!! I still have the urge to do something with matching blocks, but more Platformer'y. I'm not sure what game my head wants to do with that concept, but trying to make it work with a random generator will probably be the hardest part. I've never quite managed to do block-puzzles with a generator, which is ironic given the multitude of puzzle generators I've been making for Foldapuz. Hmm.. I wonder if I'll manage that, this week?

I enjoyed my day off, yesterday. Got a few none-gamedev things worked out, and even started playing with paper again. Wondering whether to bring back my old Paper Arcade crafts, expand the DVD Case images to fit properly and include a back, and maybe even some oldskool cardboard boxes and cassette inlays. .. Yep, even when not coding, my mind is fizzling away, trying to keep itself busy and not worry about all the doom and gloom outside.

1. Finish off this week's Shoebox game. It's a nice little two player game, placing tiles and matching up symbols. I think it's good. .. It feels like it should be, but, who knows. Strategy FTW!

I've been asked how I achieve my scrolling backgrounds, especially since (as you can probably tell from my games) I'm not using "normal" techniques. So, let's code a quick example, and you can hopefully follow along. WARNING : This is far from being the ideal, or even the "normal" way of drawing backdrops. I am NOT the best tutor for programming. I've been coding far too long without getting rid of my bad bad habits, and have been working towards "many games, quickly" techniques, rat...

Last night I sat and wrote a vague tutorial'ish thing for SmileBASIC. I took the idea of what I did with the Banana Dodging thing, and tried to make an entire game of Pong/Tennis within the space of a single screenshot-able screen of text.

Sat down to get evening code session going. Extra work on this week's SmileBASIC game. Instead, however, I opened up KORG Gadget and started work on a piece of music. 2 in the morning, I finished. 2 in the blinkin' morning.. And I'm not 100% happy with it. The thing flows well enough, all until the bridge, and then it sounds kinda clunky. I think I need to rework that a little. So, today's plan is to fix that up, and then get the game done. I also need to find a few more thi...

Little progress on the site retheming. I'm not only trying to come up with a better layout for the main page, but also wondering about the Jukebox page, too, and ways I can make that flow a little better. In either case, I didn't get very far at all.. A bad day's coding!
