Today, I became a complete and total recluse! It was the only way it was all going to get crammed into the day. Let's go through last night's list, shall we?

Gah! Extra hats today! I now need about 3 hats, and annoyingly I think I might need an extra bunch of baddies, which also means more hats! D'oh! Still, those can wait until after the Friday Beta. The things that can't wait, are those annoying things that build and build, until you realise you don't really have a whole lot of time.

First up, be aware that these aren't working yet, so the bit where one of the achievements would appear to be mostly impossible without the others, is actually down to the fact that they're 6 items apart, and nothing to do with anything that's been earned yet!!! .. having said that, here's the first screenshot of the Achievement table that I've been working on, today.

On Tuesday, things had started to go annoyingly slowly.. That part where the number of bug fixes grossly outweighs the number of fun happy additions you can be enjoying adding to your game. But I did a lot of fixes on Tuesday!

Phase One was the simple test engine I release WAY WAY back in the very early stages of this humongous project.. .. last month! Phase One was a basic engine, with simple platforming mechanics. Taking the rules of NeonPlat and adding a scrolling background, I wanted to judge if it'd be enjoyed. True, one piece of feedback was a little downbeat, but on the whole it's been well appreciated. You can't please everyone, but the original's not broken, so hopefully that makes up for it. Pha...

Had another Migraine day, today, and thus managed to accomplish bog all. 'tis a bit of a downpoint, considering how productive I've been over the past couple of weeks, but I pretty much ended up reading forums, messing about on Twitter, and.. .. Relaxing a bit. Because, apparently that's important, even when you're kicking ass making a really great platformer. Go figure!

Much as I expected, the initial burst of NeonPlat Adventure building, has now dropped to a stupidly slow rate. I'm currently flicking through all the possibilities for standard baddies, and super-evil-mega-boss baddies. Will the boss baddies be entirely seperate entities? Or will they, like previous NeonPlat games, be the same baddies, but megasized!? And what enemy types will work!? I've already cut out the unpopular "squishy" baddy. People didn't like him, because he wasn't catchab...

It's just a nice simple Platform game. And it also uses the first of the new template, along with a couple of PhotonStorm's lovely little sprites Thanks!

1. I'm waiting for Puzzobomb to pop up on the App Store, assuming they like it, and let it up there! 2. NinjaDuck is slowly plodding away, but I have no idea what type of game it'll end up being. I mean, I have a vague idea! Obviously it'll be a platformer! But other than that.. *shrugs* 3. I thought about Y-Box, and how that'd be a nice game to have on my iPhing.. Then I started juggling some sprites, built a nice set of gfx, but then couldn't be bothered to code anything. 4. I made a wall......

This week I remade Fantasy Center. It didn't turn out well, I lost heart, and I have now, in fact, lost faith in the whole Cassette 50 project. All these games really are a big bag of crap!

The year is new, but the logo's old. Sod it. I love this logo! I should be doing a year-long roundup thing, but I've not had much time, what with the whole Advent and stuff. No matter, there's been some good, and plenty of bad, and that's what AGameAWeek's all about!

Oops, forgot to post this, yesterday! No matter. After last week's retro styled "random" game, I decided to go for something similarly retro, but much less random. I've drawn some supercheap gameboy style sprites, and have been building a batch of quick and easy jumpy platform levels. I've done 11 levels so far, and am going to go the "Start from level 1, see how far you can get" route, so theres no checkpoints or anything. Just start, and hope you don't die.. 9 lives seems adequate, so far, but I m...

54 games. Last year I only managed about 30-odd, so I think that's pretty good going. Sure, it might not have truely actually been A Game "Per" Week, but I did at least keep the ratio up. If I hadn't taken the time out to build the framework, I probably would've actually achieved the target a little better The stats show I was pretty much on top of things up until that point, but then things got slower and slower until my buffer zone was all dried up. Anyhoo, this is a nice big lengthy re...

Jayenkai's World Cup Challenge : A plan to do something, rather than sit watching football for 90 minutes each and every day.. --- No fair, I missed yesterday Blame Apple. They sent me my iPhing Dev License, and I spent the day playing about with that, and installing everything again... Nothing productive, just a wasted day. Today is marginally better..

I'm still not sure what I'm calling this release, but NeoNeonPlat has been stuck in my head for a couple of days. Seems to fit. Other suggestions are welcome. Meanwhile, multiplayer (one system) is working great, and I'm starting to formulate how the scoring will all work out. There are three different baddies, the white platforms are back, and I'm starting to build up a nice progressing difficulty system. It's coming along nicely!!!

This week's game didn't quite turn out as well as expected. We'll call this week a fail, I think! Still, you could probably play it once, if you could be bothered, and then delete it in a slight rage that you played something that wasn't all that good! Amiga's Boing Ball bounces around the platform level, and collect...

With all the Mac stuff, I've not had a chance to do a new game. NOOoooooo!!!!!! I suppose I could rush something in the next 24 hours, but I'm much rather be playing with those extra trimming, and getting things a little nicer. First off, Gravity Bombs. Not touched it yet, but it definitely needs at least one tweak. .. the Mac's "Superior" (bah) Magic Mouse has a lot going for it, but it also has an inability to right click whilst holding down the left mouse button. Which is pretty much a require...
