Score Rack
Blog
17th March 2019
Today's new addition to the ShoeBox is a simple anagram game.
Try to score as many points as you can from the rack of tiles that you have.
If you can't find a word, you can use the Swap button, but each one will use up one of your moves. (You have a limit of 3 swaps when playing timed mode)
As with Strings mode, you'll need to try to beat your previous highscore to count the game as a "Win"
You can Play Shoebox here, where you'll find Score Rack in the Word Games menu.

Leapfrog
Blog
14th March 2019
The classic "hop over to remove" solitaire game is now part of the Shoebox.
It's a simple enough game. Leap either horizontally or vertically over another counter, to remove it from the board.
Your task is to remove all but one counter from the board.
I wasn't aiming to make this game, but figured it would be a nice showcase for the Board functions.
As always, give it a try wherever you can, and be sure to let me know how you get on with it.

Same Game
Blog
8th March 2019
You know that thing where you click on clusters of coloured objects, to earn points, and try to remove all the objects...?
That's now in the ShoeBox. (Under Extras)
It's a simple enough game, but it's made me realise there's certain things lacking from the ShoeBox Framework, like Score Popups, and lovely particles and things.
Definitely going to have to add those over the next day or so, I reckon.
But, yeah, another game in the box!!
You can Play ShoeBox of Games here.

First up, I've decided to just let "Trails" be "Trails", and stop worrying about what the actual game might possibly have really been.

KORG Gadget 2 released, yesterday morning, on iOS, Mac and also now on Windows.
As such, I took a day off from coding, and instead spent the day playing with the iOS edition of the app.

ShoeBox of Games

You can Play Shoebox of Games here
Over the course of a couple of weeks, in February 2019, I began the creation of a small collection of JavaScript games.
My aim is to, over the next few weeks/months, to slowly expand the number of games included in the pack, to create a lovely little collection of card games, word games, board games and more, all of which are playable within your browser.

A very Platdude styled set of cards are ready to be used, but there's no game for them to go into, yet.
Today will be about starting a new framework to cope with them.

A "simple" card game that could work fairly well.

Each week, a huge influx of emails and comments and thoughts flurry into view, as @RSKGames plays the game!
But RSK has competition, this week, as Spinal's joined in with some feedback, too!!
You can Download Classic SpikeDislike here.
@RSKGamesOverview: Back to basics Classic Spike dislike is as enjoyable and addictive as the previous versions of the game.Views 320, Upvotes 65

Day Zero Defeat
Blog
3rd February 2019
I've just spent the past couple of hours trying to fix a really stupid bug in the game logic.
All of a sudden, enemy rooks could leap over your pieces.
I looked into the code, and ... Yeah, I can see how that's happening.
The issue being, of course, that to fix it I'd need to rewrite a significant chunk of the movement code, and probably break a whole bunch of other things along the way.
I don't often give up on a project due to complexities like this.
Usually if I DO give up, its ...

31st January 2019
This is a test.
I'm not sure how compatible the new RSS feed is going to be, but if you'd like to try it out in your RSS Reader of Choice, then the url is rss.xml, which is a fairly obvious choice for rss feed urls, I think.
The link has been added down at the very bottom right of the site, and is also tagged in the header, near all those bloomin' icons!
Let me know how it goes.

Generator Tweak
Blog
15th January 2019
A slight tweak to the Maths Maze generator, as it was making some puzzles far far too easy.
I've now added a "20 or above" limit to the goal, which should help increase the difficulty level a little, as the previous day's puzzles all seemed to be a little too simplistic.
I might yet tweak it a bit further to avoid repetition, but for now it's good enough.
