As the board game engine slowly builds (really bloomin' slowly, this has been one heck of a challenge!!) I can now move "pieces" in and around the board. It currently isn't a lot, and there's little or no rules, but it is at least functional. Now to figure out why the whole thing scrolls so slowly at certain points.. Hmmm...

Today I'll be trying to come up with a few imaginative ideas for particles, but will probably run out of ideas after my usual few!

Shoebox has been limited to a 30fps mode, simply because initial tests showed my crappy laptop to suck at trying to run it at 60fps, and the fan kicks into gear!

You can Play Shoebox of Games here Over the course of a couple of weeks, in February 2019, I began the creation of a small collection of JavaScript games. My aim is to, over the next few weeks/months, to slowly expand the number of games included in the pack, to create a lovely little collection of card games, word games, board games and more, all of which are playable within your browser.

Yesterday I got an email with an idea for a game. A "simple" card game that could work fairly well.

Each week, a huge influx of emails and comments and thoughts flurry into view, as @RSKGames plays the game! But RSK has competition, this week, as Spinal's joined in with some feedback, too!! You can Download Classic SpikeDislike here.

@RSKGames

Overview: Back to basics Classic Spike dislike is as enjoyable and addictive as the previous versions of the game.

This will be SpikeDislike Classic, and as such will be a back-to-basics approach. Nobody seemed to like the wonderful new additions that I made to SD3, so they'll all be scrapped in favour of the good old "Ball bounces along the ground, dodging spikes, full stop" mechanic that everybody loves.

After each release, an influx of a comment bombards the pages of the site, and we get to see what people thought of the game. This week, RSKGames has decided to chip in, with thoughts of the gravity based, planet blasting game, Orbital Annihilation. You can play Orbital Annihilation here.

RSKGames

In Orbital Annihilation the player has to wait till the planets are aligned at the right positions in the orbits to fire and destroy the selected planet. Takes a bit of patience and timing to ...

For the past few months, I've been back and forthing on a way to get this to look half-assed on the 3DS. The main issue is with the Starfield, vs the 3DS's LED "haze" (Or maybe that's because I'm using a Original 3DS as my Homebrew unit!?) The slow-to-react LED is causing really horrible "clarity" issues. When you moved, the stars turned to a dark grey whilst the screen tries to catch up. If you stopped, and it has time to draw them fully, they become hard and white. The constan...

Didn't get an awful lot of coding done, yesterday. My mind was unsure whether to make the Chess game into a puzzle or an action game, and it was as though that decision clogged up my mind to the point where I didn't actually do anything at all!!

Added Planets. Lots and lots of planets, handy for all manner of things. The "Form" slider will also allow you to generate textures, rather than planet sprite image, which can come in handy for making spinning textured ingame planets. Be aware, however, that "Repeating Texture" mode is somewhat slow due to all the circles it has to draw!!

I spent most of yesterday struggling to get the Pixelart2STL tool to have a lovely 3D WebGL representation of the model, so that I can then upgrade the tool to allow for monochrome extruded models like the original .exe does.
