Didn't get an awful lot of coding done, yesterday.
-=-=-
It was far too hot, and my brain went to rot. I tried again and again to get things done on my game, but all the heat was too much, and I just sat here tweaking VidGen instead, whilst my poor little brain was too warm.
I made an attempt at a fractal like generator, that drew some kind of germinated sprites onto layers. I'd hoped that the outcome would be sort of surreal, but in the end it just looked blurry and not all that great.
I hate it when things don't work out, but when the weather gets like that I guess I just have to put up with the fact that I'm not going to get much done.
It's warm again this morning. I hope it's not as bad. The fans are all on standby, though, of that I'm rather glad.
I had to buy some extra USB extension leads so the fans could all be spread around the room. There aren't that many plugs inside the house. Thank goodness that I bought the USB fans. At least that way we only have small thin cables to trip over, not ginormous power-cables everywhere!
Who knows. In the future we might invest in getting an electrician to do up our power plug situation.
For now though, it's enough.
The fans only come out when it's roasting!
[Dave is sitting on his couch, fanning himself with a magazine. The room is filled with various Cola-themed items, including a Cola bike, Cola shelves, and a Cola desk. Sweat drips down his forehead as he looks around the room.]
Dave: (groaning) It's so hot in here. I can't take it anymore!
Green: (entering the room) Hey Dave, why don't you turn on that new fan you bought?
Dave: (excited) Oh yeah! I almost forgot about that!
[Dave jumps up and retrieves a large box from the corner. He quickly unpacks a sleek, modern fan.]
Dave: This beauty will cool us down in no time!
[Dave looks around for a place to plug in the fan, his excitement fading as he realizes there are no free outlets.]
Dave: Oh no... I don't have any free plugs.
Green: Well, what's using all the outlets?
Dave: (pointing) There's the PC, the TV, the microwave, and of course, the Coke fridge.
Green: Hmm, tough choice. What are you going to unplug?
Dave: (looking torn) I... I don't know. The PC or the Coke fridge? This is a nightmare!
[Scene Two]
Int. Dave's room - Later
[Dave is pacing back and forth between his computer and the Coke fridge, sweating profusely.]
Dave: (talking to himself) Okay, Dave, think. The computer is important, but so is cold Coke. Cold Coke... Mmmm...
[The appliances start talking, as they often do in Dave's world.]
PC: Choose me, Dave! Think of all the fun we have together. Remember Fractal Processing?
Coke Fridge: Don't listen to that pile of circuits, Dave. You need me. Remember how refreshing I am when you're hot?
Dave: (clutching his head) You're not helping, guys!
Green: (watching from the couch) Why don't you just unplug something temporarily? You can switch back and forth.
Dave: (eyes widening) Greenie, you're a genius!
[Dave unplugs the computer and plugs in the fan. Cool air starts to flow.]
Dave: (sighing with relief) Oh, that's nice.
[Scene Three]
Int. Dave's room - Evening
[Dave is sitting in front of the fan, surrounded by empty Coke cans. The computer remains unplugged.]
Green: (entering) Hey Dave, feeling better?
Dave: (nodding) Much better. Though I'm starting to miss the PC.
Green: Why don't you plug it back in?
Dave: (looking at the empty cans) I may have gotten carried away with the Coke. The fridge needs time to chill more.
[Suddenly, they hear a meowing sound from outside.]
Dave: (confused) What's that?
[Dave opens the door to find a ginger cat sitting on a newspaper.]
Dave: (picking up the newspaper) Hey, this paper has tomorrow's date on it!
Green: (excited) Dave, do you know what this means?
Dave: (grinning) Yeah, I do. It means we've got bigger problems than choosing between the PC and the Coke fridge!
[The two look at each other, realising their summer just got a lot more interesting.]
Dave: Well, at least we've got a fan now. We're going to need it for all the running around we'll be doing!
[They both laugh as the credits start to roll, hinting at more adventures to come.]
[End Credits]
(I have no idea why it went in that direction!!!)
