As we sit in the ward with the wires around us, there's a continual beeping from a machine at the side, as it scans and displays all our stats that are vital. A constant reminder of our fragile lives.
Of course not!
That's silly.
But hey, for the fun, why not display this on a screen by the side of your bed, and make people think you're being constantly monitored for some kind of weird and unknown outbreak.
Maybe it's Chicken Pox.
Perhaps it's a headache.
Or maybe it's something deadly, like a serious case of hayfever.
Who knows what your condition may be. Hopefully the nurses are doing their jobs, and you'll be back to full health within a few short hours.
Get well soon!
Note : Health check is entirely fictional and should not be used to diagnose possible brain cysts or any other medical ailment.
Note 2 : I'm fine, this is just what today's word suggested to me!!!
[Dave is sitting on the couch, struggling with a blood pressure monitor. Greenie enters, sipping a Coke]
Greenie: (surprised) Dave, what are you doing now?
Dave: (excitedly) I'm trying out my new blood pressure monitor! It's giving some interesting readings.
Greenie: (skeptically) Interesting how?
Dave: Well, one minute it says I'm practically dead, and the next it's off the charts!
Greenie: Sounds about right. Are you sure you're using it right? It's not actually one of those ankle bracelet things, is it?
Dave: (defensively) This is a proper medical device.
Greenie: (rolling his eyes) Right, because you're known for your expertise with medical equipment.
[Scene Two]
Int. Dave's Flat - Afternoon
[Matt enters to find Dave tangled in the blood pressure cuff, while Greenie watches in amusement]
Matt: (confused) What's going on here?
Dave: (struggling) I'm trying to get an accurate reading, but this thing keeps giving me weird numbers!
Greenie: (to Matt) Dave's new toy is about as reliable as his fractal processing program.
Matt: (concerned) Maybe you should get yourself properly checked out, Dave.
Dave: (stubbornly) It's fine! Look, it says my blood pressure is... 3,000 over negative 12?
Greenie: (sarcastically) Oh yes, perfectly normal. You're either about to explode or you're a medical miracle.
[Scene Three]
Int. Dave's Flat - Evening
[Dave is sprawled on the couch, surrounded by empty Coke cans. The blood pressure monitor is beeping erratically]
Greenie: (exasperated) Dave, don't you think all that Coke might be affecting the readings?
Dave: (jittery) Nonsense! Coke is happiness and joy.
Matt: (picking up the monitor) Um, guys? I think I found the problem. This isn't a blood pressure monitor.
Greenie: (surprised) What? Then what is it?
Matt: (reading the label) It's a... heart monitor for hamsters?
Dave: (pause) Well, that explains the tiny cuff.
[As Dave gestures wildly, he knocks over a stack of Coke cans, creating a domino effect across the room]
Greenie: (sighing) Maybe it's time to stick to less dangerous hobbies... like collecting obsolete phone chargers.
