Yesterday's attempts at an ALChoon ended up much better than the previous day.

Once I'd decided to let go of my issues, of repeating myself and going in loops, I found that I was much better at forming lyrics for this week's ALChoon.
Some times you worry and stress too much about repeating yourself, and you just have to remind yourself to create what your head seems to want, instead of constantly battering yourself over the head with rules and limits and such.
AGameAWeek is hard enough without worrying about too much repetition. I've made nearly 900 games, now, and there's bound to be a little familiarity with the games.
And the tunes are in a similar state, now, too. With over 1,000 tunes in the archive, I shouldn't complain if a few of them are kinda samey.
That's not really the issue, here, though.
For the Recorded album I wanted to challenge my creative side, and within the space of three songs, I've written lyrics that are alarmingly similar.
That's kind of a problem, isn't it?
And trying to find sounds to record is even an issue.
Bah.
Maybe I just need to get out more, and record some epic background audio for interpreting into songs?
This week's ALChoon includes the sound of the fridge door "whoop"ing as it's being closed.
It's a fun little sound, but it's nothing to write home about.
As I hunt around the room, there's a floppy disk drive on the Amiga, a DVD drive that can spin up, a Video Cassette player that'll maybe play unless it's dead (that's not been tested for a while)
But that's about it, really.
I have a lot of quiet technology, it seems.
Hmmm..
[Dave is hunched over his computer, furiously typing away at RabbitSheet. Green is lounging on the couch, sipping coffee.]
Dave: Come on, you stupid RabbitSheet! Why won't you compile properly?
Green: Maybe it's because you've had too much Coke. How many bottles are in your recycling bin now?
Dave: [defensively] That's not important right now. I'm trying to focus on this project.
Green: I still think DataBunny would've been a better idea. Imagine fields of data that the bunnies could run around in!
Dave: [pausing] You know, that's not a bad concept. It could be part of a whole suite...
[Scene Two]
Int. Dave's apartment - 20 minutes later
[Dave has moved to a whiteboard, sketching out crazy warren-based ideas. Green watches, intrigued.]
Dave: Picture this, Greenie: a lovely outdoor summer field, with DataBunny, RabbitSheet, and some sort of Desktop Publisher...
Green: Sounds like you're trying to compete with Microsoft Office. I'm not sure Bill would be pleased.
Dave: This is totally different! It's more... nature-themed.
Green: As long as it actually functions accurately. You wouldn't want the bunnies to start hopping around, moving data.
Dave: Free-Range data! .. Hey, I should add chickens!
[Scene Three]
Int. Dave's apartment - Evening
[Dave is pacing with another coke in hand, while Green looks on, amused]
Dave: .. and then it all saves into warrens of data. It's perfect. I've got it all planned out, Greenie. But I still need a name for the Desktop Publisher. Any ideas?
Green: How about "CarrotPress"?
Dave: [laughs] That's not bad! I like that. CarrotPress, yeah, and al the templates would have an orange background!
Green: Just promise me you won't fill your entire shopping trolley with carrots for inspiration.
Dave: [rolling his eyes] Very funny. But seriously, this could be big. We could call the whole suite... "Burrow Office"!
Green: [sarcastically] Oh yes, I'm sure it'll be a huge hit.
Dave: It's going to revolutionise office software!
Green: But outdoors.
Dave: Yeah! Just think of the merchandising opportunities!
Green: [sighs] Fine, but when you inevitably need help debugging it, don't expect me to stay up until 6 AM. I've already done that once, this month.
[End credits roll with Dave excitedly sketching more rabbit-themed software ideas, while Green tries to declutter all the Coke bottles]
