Goodness me, all that not-doing-any-work-myself in the Living Room has tired me out!

-=-=-

It's Monday Morning, 3 days after the builders left, and I'm still utterly shattered from having not done anything.

Yesterday, part one of our new Living Room furniture turned up.
Two small thin side-tables (Magazine racks!) that blend in well at the sides of the 45+ year old sofa, and really seem perfectly suited to the room.
They both needed put together, but were simple enough to do, and really do look the part.
Could do with a bit more weight, though. They're very wobbly.
Might try shoving giant bricks on the base. ... We have a lot of bricks outside!

The large "we're using it as a TV cabinet" unit should be arriving later today, and will be similarly fit together, screw by screw, twist by twist. Oh my god, I'm exhausted!!!

Don't forget about AGameAWeek, Jay!
OK, so I've this so far.

I've not added a player ship to the game yet, but the objective so far would appear to be "destroy the ominous creature by shooting the circles to destroy it bit by bit"
It wiggles with each point moving in a sin/cos wave, and looks kinda neat as a baddy.
So, I suppose I need to add a ship and bullets, and ..
.. Then what?!
Hmmm...

I think I have a "Bullet Hell" game in the works here.
Going to have to work carefully to make it playable as can be, whilst also being super difficult!
A very thin line to tread.

Yesterday was my 50th day of daily Piano Practice, so I attempted to play a bit of Closure. I ended up having to split it up into tiny tiny chunks, and even those were rock hard to play.
I'm not sure if it's my lack of skill, or just that I made a really hard-to-play song.
Who knows.

Fifty days on. Am I feeling like I'm getting better at playing?
Well, I can now manage the AGameAWeek Jingle Repetition thing about 10 times in a row without failing, but that's really boring to listen to, so I think I might need to add a bit of variation to that. Maybe some chord changes or something along the way.
I think I should also likely try playing longer pieces, instead of constantly playing little repeating loops and then giving up!!!

Yeah, I'm getting better, but I've a long long way to go!

Keep pianoing, Jay!

Tonight at 7pm GMT on BBC Radio 3, they're broadcasting this year's Doctor Who Proms. The Proms are the BBC's annual festival of classical music, with each of the live events being either a specific concerto or an entire album, or even being themed around a particular composer, with the large BBC Orchestra performing the music in front of a live audience.
Over the past number of years, though, they've started to expand it to orchestral renditions of popular music, and other such things. They even had a "Classic Ibiza Anthems" thing a few years ago, and .. I must admit that was quite fun!

Even Seth MacFarlane's popped up a few times singing Sinatra style musical numbers.. You really can't tell what the heck's going to happen.

Anyhoo, it's become somewhat of a tradition in recent years to have a Prom dedicated to the music of Doctor Who, and this year's no exception.
This year's Doctor Who Prom will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 3, tonight at 7pm GMT, and they're also recording it for a later TV broadcast which will be happening later on in the year. (They usually hold it back for November'ish, so it's something to link to the anniversary of the first episode.)

So, if you can access BBC Radio, you can have a listen to that, later
