Uhoh, guess what I did, yesterday!!!

-=-=-

1. iPadOS 26

First thing's first.. I updated the iPad.

And, I'll be honest, this is much less of a shitshow as previous early developer betas have been, but I think the majority of that is down to just how little seems to have been updated.
Sure the whole interface has had an upgrade, but that's less of a "functionality" thing, and more of a neat little skin.
... And quite a dull one, at that, there's just borders around everything, and it's all "oooh, glass", and I'm all "oooh, don't care.."

The Glass actually kills off a ton of visibility, as things become less "shades of dull" and more "bordered dull if you can manage to see the think border"
Hmmm..
Some of the "glass" seems to warp background things as though a bubble of glass, other "glass" will simply blur it out like it's diffused/misted glass, and then there a third type of "we just drew a border, hope you don't mind" glass that seems to be used unnecessarily, in other places.

It's certainly an aesthetic, but it doesn't quite feel as cohesive as I imagine the folk at Apple want it to be.

2. MacOS 26

Since the iPad was running smoothly, I figured I might as well throw the MacBook under the bus, too.
Again, nothing "too" drastic. Except, they didn't just make the new "Launchpad" an option. They literally killed Launchpad, and replaced it with a new "We'll show you what we think you want" thing, instead of the lovely "Organise your own hub of icons" that Launchpad was.
Hmmm..
I ended up installing a thing called uDock, which offers you a small window in which you can place your own icons for things, and have them always show up like that.

But other than that, everything else seems to be running as expected.
.. Oh, except for No Man's Sky, but that didn't run in the previous Dev Beta, either, so I'm just going to chalk that one up to Apple hating Hello Games for some reason.

3. MacOS 26

Might as well get ALBox running the new OS, too, right?!
That was also a doddle, though it took longer downloading it because I still haven't properly networked my bedroom and the wifi's a little bit slow in there.
But it got there, and it all installed just fine.
Again, no major issues to complain about.

Honestly, the weirdest change I've found so far is that hitting Command+R in Safari, running GotoJSE, will now stop and start the program.
I DID code it to do that, but Safari's always been the outlier, grabbing the keypress and doing a page-refresh.
Now, even though Command+R is still the page refresh shortcut, it seems like GotoJSE is successfully grabbing the keypress first, and the browser is letting it be the Run/Stop keypress.
.. So I guess that's something?!
They'll have taken that away from me by the time the final version's out, I'm sure.

Honestly, this is a mighty fine Beta. And this is probably why the Public Beta is only about a month away. They don't usually do it that quick, I don't think.
There's really nothing "Big" that I've noticed. Though the "Make my photo into 3D for me" button is kinda cool!
.. It's not quite as foolproof if you give it a Platdude Pixelart to contend with

Meanwhile...

I had my daily Grand Prix in Mario Kart World ... Hey, a random Daily Grand Prix would be fun in that.. Someone, tell Nintendo..
Something else that I've previously suggested should really be in there is a "use the mouse to draw a track" mode. .. That's not there, either.
Hmmm.
Anyhoo, not the point. The point is, I managed another Grand Prix, and only need to beat one more grand prix in 50cc mode, which is great.

Then I move up to 100cc, where I have to judge whether my motion sickness can cope with it, once more. I'll be honest.. If I can "only just" manage a 50cc Grand Prix per sitting, I'm not 100% sure I'll be able to cope.
eeek!
..
If not, I'll just keep driving around in Free Roam until I get bored

Meanwhile, Meanwhile...

So I figured I'd try out the Cloud Sync on No Man's Sky. Cloud.NoMansSky.com

I opened up the game on the Switch 2, set it to Cloud Sync, then had to open the browser on the iPad, log in, set up the setting to set the set setty set, and all was setup.
Cool.
So, next I have to add Steam, I suppose, so I went to open it on the Mac... uhoh...
.. See above.

So then I grabbed the Rogally, and ... Aw, man, now that's doing an update.

I carried on faffing about whilst the Rogally was updating. I clicked on the Sony Sync button, signed in there, clicky click. Setty set.
Then I clickity clicked on the Xbox icon, too.

Gud gud!!
.. Except to actually sync the Playstation and Xbox versions, I need to open them up and click buttons in the games.
Damn.. I have to plug them in!?!

I'll do that another time.
In the meantime, I'll eventually got the Switch save running on the Rogally and the Rogally save running on the Switch. That was cool!

.. Completely useless, since pretty much all my saves are in exactly the same state of "aimless wandering", but cool to do it.

No Man's Sky on Switch 2 - Default settings

Now, to be fair, because I haven't connected the ROGAlly to a 4k display, yet, I haven't been able to bump up the gfx to full, nor have I tweaked the antialiasing and whatnot.
But this is the Switch in handheld mode, so.. um...

P.S. I didn't code anything, yesterday.
