MacOS 26, beta 2, and the "minimally glossy" Audio Tag became even more transparent, to the point where the white buttons on a white transparent background .. Well, you can guess what that looked like, yesterday.
The "AI Corner" song(s) of the day was pretty much completely invisible.
So, what to do?
Well, if I'm going to attempt to fix it, why not take things a little bit further?
I opened up Bing Copilot, and asked it for some tips, and between the two of us, we managed to get a nice interface that opens up in a new tab, and can be controlled both in the new tab (where you'll still have to press Play on Safari, because.. nnnngh) but also can click on more songs on the blog, and have them work as a nice playlist in the background.
There's also a new button on the top of any blogs that have mp3s, which should (!!) play everything as a playlist.
Was it worth it?
Sure, I actually like being able to play a bunch of songs in the background.

Int. Dave's Games and ScrunchCakes - Afternoon
[Dave is behind the counter, surrounded by a mountain of ScrunchCakes. He's sneezing quite badly.]
Dave: [ACHOO!] Gah! [ACHOO!]
Green: Go and take some time out, Dave, sneezing over the customers isn't healthy.
Dave: [ACHOO!] No, I'm not alright! It’s... it’s the ScrunchCakes! [ACHOO!] They're attacking my sinuses!
Green: Attacking? Dave, you're being ridiculous. They’re just cakes. Delicious, sugary cakes.
Dave: [ACHOO!] No! There's .. There's something.. [ACHOO!] a subtle floral scent I hadn’t noticed before. It’s.. [ACHOO!] it’s overwhelming!
Green: Also, we're definitely going to have to throw all those ScrunchCakes out. You sneezing around them can't be healthy.
Brian: We did add a new fragrance to the ventilation system yesterday.
Dave: There's a what?
Brian: Oh, yeah! We used essence of Purple. You know, that weird purple goop in the fridge.
Green: [Eyes widening] "Purple"? Brian, what on earth..
Dave: [ACHOO!]
Brian: [Shrugging] It's got a nice sheen. And it smells kinda grape-y, right?
Dave: [ACHOO!] Grape-y..? Is that what the purple is? [ACHOO!] I need more tissues! And possibly an ambulance.
Green: [To Dave] See? This is why we have protocols! Brian, don't use the purple. Heck, I'm surprised we haven't already been shut down for putting the purple in the ScrunchCakes.
Dave: [ACHOO!]
Brian: But it made everything smell so vibrant!
Dave: Vibrant and toxic.. and sneezy. [ACHOO!]
Green: [Sighing] OK, time to sort this out. Get me some bleach or something.
Brian: Sorry Dave.
Dave: It's fine. It's fine. [ACHOO!]
[Dave sneezes one last time, sending a cascade of ScrunchCakes tumbling from the counter.]
