Don't worry, it's almost ready.
I think I still need an extra little something sprinkled in, but otherwise the game's feeling nice and fun to play with. It's mostly the scoring that's nothing special right now.
I spent most of yesterday working on the game, but "Heatwave Number 4" (because the British Met Office apparently isn't naming heatwaves like it does with storms) is kicking my butt, right now. I did try to get a few minor bits and pieces done, but brain mush was taking over!
I instead spent a good couple of hours wandering the worlds of No Man's Sky, and have now managed to reach "The center of the Galaxy!" using my Nintendo Switch game save, which means all four (PS4, Xbox GamePass Cloud, Steam, and Switch) saves are now all close to the center of their respective galaxies.
Oh, how lovely.
Maybe they'll all join in, some day, and have a party or something!
.. I'd need to plug the Playstation in, and sign up for GamePass again, first, though...
.. Maybe not, eh!?
My mind is melting,
Too much heat.
I need to think.
Things incomplete.
No stable thoughts,
Are in my head.
Just endless swirls,
The type I dread.
I aim to write,
But am not able,
Thought are twirling,
Not quite stable.
What to do?
I need to chill.
An ice cold bath,
I'd love to kill.
Why all this heat?
It's far too much.
I dream of rain,
And snow, and such.
My mind is melting, (melt)
Too much heat. (heat)
I need to think. (think)
Things incomplete. (plete)
No stable thoughts, (thoughts)
Are in my head. (head)
Just endless swirls, (swirls)
The type I dread. (dread)
I aim to write, (write)
But am not able, (nope)
Thought are twirling, (round)
Not quite stable. (wee)
What to do? (melt)
I need to chill. (cool)
An ice cold bath, (tub)
I'd love to kill. (drown)
Why all this heat? (no)
It's far too much. (ugh)
I dream of rain, (cool)
And snow, and such. (ice)
[outro]
Why all this heat?
It's far too much.
I dream of rain,
And snow, and such.

Int. Dave's Games and ScrunchCakes - Kitchen
[Dave and Greenie stand before Brian, who is proudly presenting a tray of bizarre-looking ScrunchCakes. Dave's fingers are still covered in plasters.]
Brian: Introducing, Nutmeg ScrunchCakes. I've been experimenting with some bold new flavour combinations.
[Brian gestures to three distinctively different ScrunchCakes.]
Brian: First up, we have the Barbecue Blast!
[Greenie cautiously takes a bite of the Barbecue Blast ScrunchCake and immediately gags.]
Green: [coughing] That's... that's not good, Brian. It tastes like... [wipes his mouth] a burnt sausage roll that someone dropped in a bonfire.
Dave: Sounds good. [takes a bite] Hmm. The nutmeg doesn't really cut through the smokiness, though, does it? It's all a bit overpowering.
Brian: [dejected] Well, what about the Crunchy Custard?
[Greenie takes a bite of the Crunchy Custard ScrunchCake. His eyes widen in surprise.]
Green: [munching thoughtfully] This is... actually quite good. What's the crunch?
Brian: A glorious toasted sausage crumble.
Green: Oh, yeah, it's still a ScrunchCake isn't it.
Dave: [taking a bite] Wow! It's like a Scrunchy custard doughnut! This is brilliant, Brian!
Green: How did you get the inner sausages so gooey?
Brian: They're boiled, first.
Dave: Boiled in the middle, toasty on the outside. You're really going to town with the sausage surprise!
[Dave and Greenie quickly finish the Crunchy Custard ScrunchCake.]
Brian: I’m calling this one the 'Zesty Zinger' [holds out a bright yellow ScrunchCake] and this one the 'Spicy Surprise' [holds out a deep red ScrunchCake].
Dave: I thought we agreed there'd be no spices.
Brian: You started it with your Nutmeg suggestion yesterday. I just took it to its logical conclusion.
Green: [holding up the Zesty Zinger ScrunchCake] This is the logical conclusion?
Brian: Sure it is. Lemon curd! It's delicious.
Dave: I'm still not sure about that red one. You know I don't like spices.
Brian: Go on, Dave, give it a go.
[Greenie and Dave look at each other, then back at Brian, with a mix of excitement and trepidation.]
Dave: It's like one of those mystery job lots of games from eBay all over again!
Green: [sighs] I'm not sure my stomach can handle a spicy surprise.
[They two each hold up a Red ScrunchCake, and tap them against each other.]
Dave: For science!
