Looks like some professors are starting to teach a crazy wild idea of coding a "Game-a-Week".

Good luck to anyone tackling this.. But it's not sensible to keep yourself thinking in that mindset, though.

After doing this for a decade, I find it VERY hard to work on anything longer, and I certainly wouldn't recommend it as a starting point in a career, nor would I suggest it's a good idea to be teaching and grading this sort of thing. It seems like it's a very dark road to be going down. Be sure to practice lengthier games, as those will be the sorts of things you'll be doing once you've left your education.
