Had a day out, today.
I rarely go out anywhere, since there's feck all in town anymore.
95% of the shops in Bolton Town Center are mindnumbingly shit, unless you feel the need to visit a charity shop.
The shops I used to visit are, in order of visits..

Waterstones : Books
WHSmiths : Magazines and occasionally the odd Board Game!

Since the heydays of my youth (April last year) I've bought, from shops.....

0 Games
0 Books
A few Magazines.. from work.. where I work.. not all the way in town..
.. and Stargate SGU Season 1.

The thing is, between Steam, Amazon and iTunes, I get all the games/books/music/films that I want.
There's really bog all reason for me to head into town anymore, except that one time I was given a HMV voucher, and couldn't use it online.. (hence the in-store purchase of SGU!)

I'm getting everything online.
There's nothing I can't buy cheap online.
My lack of shop-visiting is exactly the reason my town's gone to pot, and the fact that town's gone to pot is giving me even less of a reason to visit it.
The vicious circle of purchases, leading to my home town's ultimate demise!!


Today, though, I DID have to head into town.

I had to buy a new kettle.
My old kettle went "WEEEEEEE!!!" yesterday, sending out smoke signals that anyone could've seen for miles, as well as a fairly toxic kind of dodgy smell.
Not having that in my brew! No way!!

If it were anything else I could've ordered the bugger online, and then patiently waited.
But NO...
Not the kettle.
Jay without Brews = 0 AGameADay!

So, off I went into town, where I bought a cheap-ass kettle from Argos.
.. and a Toaster.. might as well since I'm there.

Of course, it was only once I was in town, and wandering around noseying at things, that I went "Oh yeah, we have a coffee peculator in the house.."

.. ffs, could've saved a trip.
