AGameAWeek Gold - March 3rd - Mini Sokoban
Blog
3rd March 2013
I've been considering doing this for a while, but never bothered to come up with any sort of Database Scanner to find old posts. I'm lazy like that!
Luckily, a new iOS App has come along to save me the trouble. The wonderful "TimeHop" is available (for free), and allows you to upload your Twitter Archive, as well as include your Facebook timeline.. What it then does is scan the archives for things that have happened on this day, and present you with a nice look back at all your old gubbins. It's FANTASTIC!! Since I've spent the past 7 years tweeting about my weekly projects, it's been throwing up a lot of nostalgia. Some of it's good, some of it's baffling, and .. curiously.. some of it seems to be exactly the same. For example, I've spent the past couple of weeks reading two year old tweets about the complexities of getting SpikeDislike into the AppStore, while simultaneously battling those exact same complexities getting SpikeDislike2 into the AppStore! Weird!! Anyway, it brings back old stuff, and so I've decided to use it's wonderful feature to bring old stuff back, here, too! And.. curiously timely today's is, too!! -=-=- Four years ago today, I posted Mini Sokoban for Windows. A hastily bundled together batch of Sokoban levels, with a really gnatty looking spriteset. The aim was to convert this, and other little "mini" games into Platdude's Retro Collection 2 on DS. To be honest, I'm not entirely sure what went wrong with that plan. I think I just sort of gave up on it. hmmm.. : We'll probably find out at some point, as our trip through the past continues.. You can Download Mini Sokoban here, for Windows. Meanwhile, in a curiously timely fashion, Spinal_Cord released his own version of Sokoban for iOS, yesterday. .. How co-incidental!! There's a lot of this type of thing popping up with TimeHop. It's really rather weird!! He's converted his great MicroQuest engine from Item-Collection puzzles into a Sokoban one, and managed to get a whole big pile of levels into the game, too! Luvly stuff.. You can Download MicroQuest 2 : Box Pusher here for iOS. Both MicroQuest and MicroQuest 2 are available for FREE, so you've no excuse. Go grab 'em now!! Views 71, Upvotes 17
