New games every week!

Yesterday I started work on two SmileBASIC games.

-=-=-

The first is intended for next week, and should hopefully be a nice little platformer. .. Though it might alternatively be a top-down maze. Depends on how things go!!
I got as far as animating the two main characters, but then decided I should probably focus on THIS week's game, instead!

This week's game seems like it might turn out OK, though I've not got the main mechanics working, yet.

An action based sliding-block puzzle. Match 3 or more in a row, and they vanish as in any decent Match-3 game.
More icons slide in from the sides as you play, and you need to ensure that a row/column doesn't ever fill up.

It "should" work, but .. like they say, the proof is in the pudding.
Mmmm, pudding..

The sliding block element is working, and the Match-3 is, too, but now I need to start work on the main stuff.
Timings will probably be the hardest thing to get right. You don't want a giant lull in the gameplay when there's nothing left on the board.
It has to keep active, but not so fast that it becomes impossible to play.
Balancing!!

And, maybe if it ends up being good, a redux in the Shoebox, later!?
