I *think* the "Lost Levels" error might've been to do with me trying to save too much data at once. The framework's save got mixed up with the level editor's save, and the data simply vanished into the ether.
I've added a "Saving" display, so that the user can't do anything whilst the save's happening. Hopefully that should solve the issue, but I'll be keeping a watchful eye on my levels!!
In the meantime, I'm ploughing ahead, and now have 16 tutorial'y levels.

OK, More Levels..
Blog
9th September 2018
There are currently 4 levels in the game.
Last night I started popping the audio into the game, and thankfully nothing's broken! (I was a little worried about memory!)

A Level - Edited...
Blog
8th September 2018
The level above was created using the 3DS edition of the game.
In fact, a whole 4 level pack was created, then swiftly backed up to the PC, in case anything breaks!!
4 Levels, and a successful first proper pack!
I will, of course, need to create a few simpler packs for the start of the game, but this is a nice and complex level, and should be roughly the size of most of the levels in the game.

Things to dislike..

1. Having to compress level data, to shave a few hundred kilobytes of data that can't quite fit into the memory of the 3DS without it crashing, but then it being perfectly happy to have about 7Mb of audio crammed in.

Memory Management

I should probably have already known this, but taking 500 levels worth of data and cramming it directly inside the code of a 3DS game, seems to cause memory issues!!

The Very Beginning

Initial conception, and first test of printed foldable layout.
The layout seems workable, and if I continue to make the puzzles in that aspect ratio it should be fairly functional as a pocketsized booklet.
Left the idea to ferment for a week!!

Foldapuz - The Start
Blog
3rd September 2018
Over on my site Socoder.net, we have a daily poll, and each day it gives you something to vote on, then the next day you get points based on whether you voted for the winning item on the poll.
It's been there for many many years, now, and I'm starting to get a little sick of the sight of the bloomin' thing, but what could I possibly replace it with?
The current leading idea is a doodle box, where the players are given a start point and a few colours, and the best art wins. But that then requi...

Zero Progress
Blog
30th August 2018
Over on SoCoder, Spinal asked all about my old JMTrackr tool/player.
This is the second time it's cropped up in the past few days, (It was mentioned on Facebook a day or two ago) and it's got me wondering if I should attempt a new version of it for the C++ Framework... and more importantly, for JNKPlat2018.
You can learn more about JMTrackr here.

Starting Menu Two

Menu Two is infinitely more complicated than Menu One.
Whereas menu one was simply a set of buttons on the titlescreen, menu two needs to list hundreds of levels.

The Test button is now on the top left, next to the save button.
The tile-menu is now on the bottom left instead of the right, leaving quite a gap on the bottom right of the screen. I might need to tweak that a bit!
