Each release brings a wave of thoughts and comments.
Let's have a peek at RSKGame's thoughts on this week's puzzle game.
You can Download The Link Janitor here.
@RSKGamesA very relaxing puzzle game with right mixture of difficulty with 225 levels. Crikey. He's only gone and completed the entire game!!Views 238, Upvotes 43

Last month, I subscribed to the ZenPop Ramen selection.
The box appears, then over the coming weeks, I review each of the noodles.
Last month's collection can be found in this SoCoder Thread, but I figured it might be something entertaining to crosspost here, too.
Well.. Guess it's time to eat...

Something Bouncy?
Blog
26th June 2018
My mind wanders back to a game idea, long long long ago.
Super Bouncer (2003!) never got off the ground because I knew I'd need really big levels, and I couldn't be bothered to make them!
(This is a running theme)
With my modern day proc-gen methods, I could probably get a decent random-path generator up and running to keep the game varied enough to be interesting.
Couple it with better collision detection (really, anything would be better than the old test version!) and it has the potenti...

OK, the game's been "final" compiled and bundles are ready, so today will be all about uploads.

Things certainly aren't "too" difficult, at least not up to the level of "Biscuit", but the variety of levels is much more interesting, and a few levels are a little more taxing than they were yesterday.
.. that only took half the day!!
Now I just need to finish the actual game, get a game title added, do logos and screenshots and start preparing the bundles.
.. basically, everything that I normally do on a Sunday, but haven't yet had time for.
Oops!

I have NO IDEA how it happened, but at some point yesterday, the face on my Misfit Phase cracked.
I must've hit it, or something, but I really can't remember doing that.
Hmmm..

Closing In
Blog
23rd June 2018
Getting close to the finishing line.
Tomorrow I need to think up a name, add some sounds, do the screenshots and icons and whatnot, and then we're ready for compiling.
First, however, I might see if I can make the levels a "little" bit harder.
There are a number of rock-hard levels, but they're few and far between, and the game doesn't push you onwards as a result.
Not sure if I can get any more out of the Level Generator, but .. I'd like to!!
Suggestions for a game name are wel...

Puzzling Without Gfx
Blog
22nd June 2018
I left the level generator to build me a decent number of levels, for a while, and have now got the game engine to load the level in, and display it onscreen in a half-decent way.
The next step is to draw some proper gfx, and come up with a nice new character for the game. .. Or should I use Roland again?! Hmm..

I need to come up with a nice concept for the art style of this week's game.
Hopefully I can easily manage to do bog-standard sprite recolouring on the actual "path" tiles, but I'll have to draw all the different angles and things, for the turns they could take .. Urgh..
At least they're only one-way paths, and won't do crossovers or anything like that. That would be extra complicated!

Spent all day trying to work out a nice way to generate these kinds of puzzles, and I'm fairly certain that the current method works to within a decent standard.
The general gist will be that you need to walk out a path between the two similar coloured blobs, and that links them up.
A typical colour-path sort of thing.
As stated earlier, I've worked hard to get the level generator to come up with the most fiendish levels possible, but it also makes some nice simpler levels that can be used to...

Still Slow
Blog
21st June 2018
The repointers are nearly done with the larger side wall, and will be starting on the back wall either later today, or tomorrow.
The noise is still echoing through my head, and I'm still finding it extremely difficult to code.
But it's nearly over.
Unfortunately, game code is still coming along at a slow pace.
