Yesterday was spent preparing and napping!
The turkey was defrosted early enough, so went into the oven around 11'ish, and was done by 2pm.
It then spent an hour or so cooling down, whilst Molly was kept out of the kitchen.
Once cooled, into the fridge it went.
The turkey's done, the potatoes are chopped and sitting in cold water, and tomorrow the prepping of the rest of the veggies will be done.
We've opted to go the "split up the cooking" route, this year. It's getting tougher and tougher for Mum, and I'm not exactly helping much anymore.
My sister will be coming later, today, and we'll be spending the day being festive, before she has to head on home. It'll be nice to have her around for the day.
Tomorrow will be more family, though we're not really sure who will or won't turn up, this year.
Guess we'll find out, tomorrow!
For today, Mum, me and Sister will all be enjoying the day, and I hope that you do, too.

[Dave sits in his festive Cola-themed pajamas, talking to Lady Computer]
Dave: So you see, Lady Computer, Christmas isn't just about the presents.
[Screen flickers]
Dave: It's about the limited edition Cranberry Cola they only release in December.
[Screen flickers rapidly]
Dave: And friendship! And that special Winter Spice Cola they did in 2019.
[Dave takes a thoughtful sip from a can]
Dave: And giving! Like when I give Mr Standard Fridge that new magnet shaped like Santa.
[Screen flickers]
Dave: I know! He was so happy he kept the milk extra cold for a week!
[Doorbell rings]
Dave: That'll be Greenie! Quick, activate your festive screensaver!
Lady Computer: [screen displays falling snowflakes]
Dave: Perfect! Though they could look a little bit more like tiny Cola bubbles...
Scene Two - Int. Dave's Living Room
[Green enters carrying wrapped presents]
[Dave unwraps a Christmas jumper with computers on it]
Dave: Ooh! Look Lady Computer, it's got your cousins on it!
[Screen flickers]
[More presents are exchanged]
Green: And these are special jelly beans...
Dave: SPECIAL beans? Like magic ones? Will they make Lady Computer grow?
Green: Well. No. They're just festive flavours, Dave.
Dave: Like Cola?
Green: No, like turkey and stuffing.
Dave: [horrified] They squeezed a turkey into a jelly bean?
[Dave retrieves his pile of wrapped punched cards]
Dave: Now for your presents!
Green: [seeing the pile of very obvious punched cards] Oh... great...
[Dave hands over the first card, Greenie unwrapping them as they go]
Dave: This one's from the Manchester Baby computer!
Green: [trying to smile] How... historical...
Dave: And this one crashed a hospital!
Green: Lovely...
Dave: OH! And this one - this one made a photocopier explode in 1987!
Green: [under breath] Fantastic...
Scene Three - Int. Dave's Kitchen
[Dave and Green stand looking at two microwave meals]
Green: Dave... what happened to the turkey?
Dave: What turkey?
Green: The one we spent ALL DAY calculating yesterday!
Dave: Oh, THAT turkey! Well, funny story...
[Flashback effect]
Dave: [voiceover] I was following the calculations exactly...
Green: The ones that involved Cola marinade?
Dave: Mrs Microwave said it would work! But then Mr Standard Fridge got jealous of the oven...
Green: Dave...
Dave: And Lady Computer's temperature sensors were giving conflicting readings...
Green: Dave!
Dave: And then the turkey achieved sentience and demanded political asylum...
[Back to present]
Green: The truth, Dave?
Dave: I forgot to turn the oven on.
[Mrs Microwave beeps smugly]
Dave: But look! These microwave dinners have little compartments! Like tiny computer servers for gravy!
Scene Four - Int. Dave's Dining Room
[Dave and Green sat at table decorated with Cola cans arranged like crackers]
Green: Well, it's certainly been... different.
Dave: That's what makes it special! Like limited edition flavours!
Green: Speaking of which, what's in these glasses?
Dave: Winter Spice Cola 2019! I've been saving it!
Green: For four years?
Dave: It's 2024, Greenie, that's five years.
Green: Not the point.
Dave: The vintage makes it festive!
[Lady Computer's screen visible in background, still showing Cola-bubble snowflakes]
Dave: Oh! I almost forgot!
[Runs out, returns with one final punched card]
Dave: This one's special - it's got my Christmas shopping list from 1983!
Green: Dave, you were barely born then...
Dave: I know! That's what makes it special!
[End credits roll over Dave attempting to make a Christmas tree out of empty Cola cans while Green pretends not to notice]
