OK, yesterday was the last day that I can procrastinate by fiddling around with the Unijuggler game.

*pushes release button*
...And there goes the Unijuggler.
Bye Unijuggler *waves*
Which means I now have to work on next week's game, and . .. Honestly, I haven't even got a clue what's going on there. I've been flicking through permutations of Clowns, Jokers, Fools and so on, and am trying so badly to not make a Balatro clone!
I have had a vaguely interesting idea for a game, but whether it works well enough as a Shoebox game, I'm really not sure at all.
What I'm thinking of would have a timer, and I'm not sure timers work all that well in Shoebox.
It also makes things a bit more like a puzzle than a "game", and I keep saying that Shoebox should be more game than puzzle.
Hmmm..
Meanwhile...
Desk Mode is coming together well enough, and a slight shuffle of the paper-tray thing seemed to open up the desk a fair amount.
I'm now thinking of maybe setting up some sort of USB-C Powerhouse on the opposite side of the room. Either that, or above the Paper-tray. Somewhere that I can keep the Quest 3, the ROGAlly and my phone, all charged, but placed neatly, and nicely presented, instead of being plonked at various positions around the room.
You'd think I'd be done with the room by now, having been here for a year and a half, but nah. Rooms are never finished, especially when you keep buying things all the bloomin' time
[verse]
OK then, what's next? I'm not too sure.
I guess I need to think of something that won't be such a bore.
A fun game, something crazy, maybe slightly off the wall,
With a clown, or a fool, and a juggling ball.
Come on and think, make a plan to make a game,
Try to come up with a brand new idea,
A game that people will all levitate towards,
With elements no-one's ever thought of before.
[chorus]
I know it's hard (so very hard.)
It isn't easy to create a new game. (Something so fresh)
Something that's never been done before. (All brand new)
It isn't very easy to do. (It's kinda hard because you're trying to make something so new)
I know it's hard (so very hard.)
And you've been doing this so long. ('most every week)
And it's so hard to be unique. (Just keep on thinking)
But you'll try to make things interesting and new. (I'm going to make more games for you)
[break]
[bridge]
A clown, with nose of fluffy red,
A jester, hat upon it's head.
A fool so high upon some stilts,
Which falls when he begins to tilt.
A game, on board or tiles or card.
I'm not sure which, deciding's hard.
With mouse or touchscreen it should play.
Perhaps I'll make a game, today.
[break]
[chorus]
I know it's hard (so very hard.)
It isn't easy to create a new game. (Something so fresh)
Something that's never been done before. (All brand new)
It isn't very easy to do. (It's kinda hard because you're trying to make something so new)

[Dave is excitedly arranging a row of cardboard cutout arcade machines, whilst Greenie shuffles the complete Videogame shelves around the designated Game Area floor space.]
Green: You really think an arcade is going to save this place?
Dave: Sure it is, Greenie. Don't be such a downer. It'll be *the* place to be.
Green: .. to play City Connection?
Dave: And you know what? The first game on the store shelves is gonna be Count Duckula 2. It’s a classic!
Green: (facepalming) It’s a shop that’s mostly empty and still looks like it belongs in a zombie apocalypse movie.
Dave: (defensive) Hey, I’ve worked really hard on this! For a week.
Green: (breaking the silence) Okay, fine. If you’re so set on this arcade idea, maybe I’ll help you figure out how to make it look less like .. a kid’s room.
Dave: What kid has giant arcade cabinets?
Green: You know what I mean.
Dave: Right then, come on. We could do with some bright pink neon lights and a couple of those inflatable chairs. It’d be retro, man!
[Greenie looks at him like he’s lost his mind.]
Green: Which is exactly what I mean.
[The kitchen doors open, and Mrs Thompson walks out holding freshly brewed coffees]
Mrs. Thompson: (smiling) Oh, you two! Do you always bicker like this? I bet if you get the Arcade looking just right, it'll attract all the punters.
Dave: (beaming) You’re telling me! This place is gonna be the goto spot for gamers and ScrunchCake enthusiasts.
Green: Is anyone a ScrunchCake enthusiast?
Mrs. Thompson: (laughing) It’s got potential! Just a little less empty, and we'll be good to go!
Green: We? When did..
Dave: I’ve got big things planned. And don’t even get me started on the ScrunchCake display. It’s going to be something out of this world.
[Greenie groans, but Dave ignores him.]
Dave: (excitedly) You know, I’m thinking we should throw a ScrunchCake sale to celebrate the grand opening!
Green: I'm not sure that's a great idea, Dave. We should probably. .. You kknow.. Finish the shop front, buy some stock for the shelves, put proper arcade machines in instead of cardboard cutouts..
[Mrs. Thompson chuckles.]
Mrs. Thompson: (to Green) You’d better get used to it, dear. This man’s got vision, and honestly, I’d pay good money to watch him try to sell a video game or two.
Green: You'd pay money for .. that?
[Dave grabs a large bag from behind the cardboard till counter]
Dave: (grinning) Take a look at this bad boy! It’s my first attempt at a ScrunchCake Security Sentinel! I’ve got sensors and alarms – everything you’d need to protect your precious cakes!
Green: Dave, no.
Dave: Dave, yeah!
Mrs. Thompson: Should it be flashing like that?
Green: Is that the red laser circuitboard?
Dave: Dave, yeah, yeah!!
Green: This is a disaster waiting to happen.
