Saturday was SUCH an energetic day that Sunday was all but inevitable.

On Saturday, me and Mum went on one of our regular routes around the estate. The trip would usually be about 1,400 steps or thereabouts.
It's not "too" long, but is one of the more lengthy walks around the estate.
But on Saturday, we wondered where the alternative path might lead..
I dug out my phone, opened maps, and there was indeed a long loop, through the wilderness, which leads back to the main road at the other side.
Dare we trek?!
We dared to trek!
My estimates would be that, given the extra loop was about twice the length of the loop we were on, we'd end up at about 3,500 or even 4,000 steps.
Such a lovely area. Could've done with a bit more dryness, though, as it was a little muddy underfoot.
Along the way, Mum had to grab me tightly a few times, since my stumbling doesn't exactly mix well with the slippery mud.
But we made it..
..
Until we didn't.
About 3/4 of the way around the new loop, the Gas Men appeared!!!
They've been doing a ton of work around our estate over the past few months, and .. hey, look where they've set up camp..
Right near the end of our new loop.
Vans, diggers, security and more, including fencing off the entire bloomin' area.
We looked around for a way around this unexpected closure, but couldn't find one, and the only route out of there was...
..
... All the way back again.
ugh..
By the end of our giant trek, we'd managed 6,153 steps, and I was absolutely knackered.
Tired out from all the walking, but more-so from all the stumbling, and struggling to hold my feet in place with all the slipperiness.
But I made it.
Just about.
Would we dare that again?
I think so, probably.
It WAS a nice walk.
Shame about the Gas Men blocking off the end of the trek. And the weather.
I think, maybe once we hit the drier months, next year, it might be a lovely trek to do more often. But for the next short while it'll be off limits.
....
All that is to say, I slept like a log yesterday to recuperate!

Where does it take us?
I do not know.
We're walking for acres.

[A large group of residents are gathered around a long table. Dave is fidgeting nervously.]
Matt: Alright, everyone. We're here to decide whether Dave should be allowed to stay in his... unauthorised bunker.
Andy: You mean the giant secret underground lair that he built without permission?
Dave: (defensively) Hey, it's a lovely bunker! And I haven't set anything on fire... yet.
Andy: (rolling his eyes) That's not exactly reassuring, Dave.
Joe: Look, I know Dave's caused some problems, but without him, life would be incredibly boring at RC Homes.
Andy: (interjecting) Boring, but usually in a less dangerous way! Remember the baseball bat incident?
Matt: (sighing) Let's focus on the pros and cons. First, the fire risks. Dave, your Coke-powered inventions are a regular, and quite serious concern.
Dave: But Matt, think of the possibilities! We could use the bunker for storage, or emergency housing, or-
Matt: (interrupting) Or as a hideout when you inevitably cause another disaster?
Green: We can't ignore the damage to the cabbage patch. That Coke fountain fiasco ruined an entire crop!
Dave: (sheepishly) I can replant them! With Coke-infused soil! They'll be ColaCabbages! (Trademark!)
Matt: (facepalming) Dave, no.
Dave: Dave, ye...
Everyone : NO!
Joe: But you have to admit, Dave's inventions are entertaining. Remember that Coke-powered holodeck that never worked? That was funny.
Andy: Funny or dangerously about to explode at any moment? I vote dangerous.
Matt: There's also the matter of Dave being evicted but somehow ending up in a bunker, within the grounds of RCHomes. It's not exactly following protocol.
Dave: (grinning) It's like having my own secret lair!
Matt: You're not supposed to have a secret lair, David!
Andy: Greenie, what do you think of all this?
Green: I dunno. It just amuses me. It's really quite boring around here without Dave's antics.
Joe: Yeah, Greenie's right. Without Dave we'd all be sitting around twiddling our thumbs.
Andy: And relaxing. This is SUPPOSED to be a Retirement home.
Matt: Alright, let's wrap this up. Despite the risks, it seems like most of you want Dave to stay.
Joe: He does make life more interesting. And who knows, maybe one of his inventions will actually work someday.
Andy: (sighing) As long as he stays in the bunker and out of our way.
Green: And promises not to flood anything again.
Dave: (excitedly) I promise! No more floods, no more fires, just Coke-powered innovation! .. Maybe a few floods.
Matt: (reluctantly) Fine. Dave, you can stay in your bunker, but it's your responsibility. Any disasters, even mild ones, and you're out.
Dave: (jumping up) Yes! DACMA lives on!
Everyone: NO!
Dave: (sitting down) Okay, okay. No museum. But I can keep it all, right?
Matt: (sighing) Just keep it in the bunker, Dave.
Dave: Dave, Yes!!!
[End credits roll]
