Today's Challenge Is..

Over on SoCoder, we have a special edition of SpikeDislike, which is the random Daily Dislike (but a different random seed than the normal Daily Dislike), and it gives you three plays each day. Your highest score of the day, and your average over all three plays, are both ranked, and then collated into a high score table.
It's fun!



... But it has a slight issue, in that SpikeDislike every day has started to get fairly stale.
So I thought "I wonder if I could build a bunch of games that could go there?"
And then I thought "I could call it something like 'Today's Challenge Is...' and have a whole website wrapped around that feature."
And then I thought "Gosh, that's a lot of games that'd need to be built.."
...
And then I thought "Oh yeah, Browsercade exists.."

Registration

So now I'm left wondering, how best to implement a registration/login for Browsercade.

Since all sites are hosted on the same server, I could have you register on a page here at AGameAWeek, then all you'd have to do is log in at Browsercade (since I can't have one cookie for both sites)

And if you can register here, it'd save having to type your details into the comments all the time.
And we can have that forum, here, too.

If I'm honest, this is probably a good enough strategy that I should likely do it anyway, even if I never get around to doing the "Today's Challenge Is.." thing.
Yeah, I should get AGameAWeek Forums up and running, and take it all from there.

Simplify...

So I headed over to SoCoder and thought "Right, which bits should I pick and choose to move across, and which should I not..?"
And I looked at it, and I thought.

.... "Why don't I just call SoCoder 'The Forum' and be done with it?"
I mean, there's barely any coding going on over there any more, and it's just become a general chit-chat site.

Then I can use "Your SoCoder Login" to login here, and on Browsercade, and Shoebox, Foldapuz, JSE and more, instead of having this forum and that forum, and this login and that login..
Just keep everything together.. All of it. Heck, it's all running on this server, and it's not as if any of it's going anywhere else.

OK, then... Let's rethink a few things.
1. I think I need to streamline the SoCoder registration, but not so much that every blinkin' spambot on the planet gets immediate access.
2. Build a new "daily seed, one level, return score" system into Browsercade
3. Pick a game a day, and register those scores over at SoCoder like how the daily SpikeDislike is.

I think can manage all that, right?!!
