Hey, you know what (else) I started ages ago and didn't finish...?
-=-=-
Let's take a look at where we were on this list, shall we?
Aaah, yes, Pass 4.
Pass 1 was the initial "Everything's broken" pass, marking down everything that needed repaired.. .... Everything needed repaired.
Pass 2 was the "Now that everything's settled" pass, fixing up everything that needed repaired.. ... Everything needed repaired.
Pass 3 was the music pass, and I'm calling that about 95% done, because "Really Retro Racing" and "Rollin' Rubber" both still use mods. I need to decide on the best course of action for those two.
I finished the rest of these, yesterday, but those last two games still remain.
So, then...
Pass Four
I've made a note of all the things I'd like to fix up in Browsercade, and they go as follows.
Little Fixes
Clusters of Hex - Add Full Portrait Mode
Cosmic Gardener - Animate Platdude!
Jack on the Blocks - Add an Easy Mode
Optimal Spring - Not Optimal!
Island Inferno - Fix the scoring mechanic. It's currently wrong!!
Fated Future - Maybe shrink the map a bit!! I get bored too easily.
Complex Repairs
Take This Torch - Fix the gameplay. Something feels wrong with this game, but I'm not sure what it is.
Endless Forest - Fix the gameplay. I was never 100% happy with this.
Willy Bomber - Deserves Better - Let's add more levels/themes.
Complete Overhauls
Disk O' Green - Fix the ...all of it
Magma Rose - Fix the ...all of it
So I guess that's the goal for the next week or so.
That and the Shoebox game.
Oh, and if you've any suggestions for September themes, now's probably a good time to throw them into the Comments/Discord, because once next week's Shoebox game is done.. .. We're already up to September. Eeek!!!
Meanwhile...
I added the underlying code for Achievements to my new SmileBASIC framework.
I'm currently trying to figure out how best to show them up onscreen, but the way I've set them up should hopefully allow for a more interesting addition later on. ... I think.. Maybe.
I'm now roughly at the point where I should start writing a game, and I'm not really sure where to start.
My default "test" icon has been a Snake game, though, so I think I might try to make as interesting a snake game as I can come up with.
..
Hmmm..

[Dave and Brian are surrounded by maps and cookbooks. Several ScrunchCakes of various colours are laid out on the counter.]
Dave: Right! We've got Eccles sorted. That's raisins. But what other towns can we do a ScrunchCake for?
Brian: What about Plympton? That sounds like it could work with the Purple.
Dave: Everything's better with purple! Now, what about Lewes?
Brian: Well, Chorley cakes are like Eccles cakes, but flatter. So maybe Lewes should be like Plympton, but looser, whilst the Plymptons are Plumper and Purplier?
Dave: And for Bakewell, I'm thinking we add some ground almonds.
Brian: How about Kendall? Can we do Mint ScrunchCakes?
Dave: We can try.
Brian: And white icing to make them look more Kendall like?
Dave: Exactly! See, you get it!
[Green enters, carrying a box of hairnets]
Green: Finally, the hairnets arrived. Did they have to be purple?
Dave: Of course! I think we might need to rethink our uniform, too.
Green: What uniform?
Dave: That's exactly the problem, Greenie. We don't even have a uniform.
Brian: I'm in the back all the time. I don't need a uniform do I?
Dave: We'll get you a purple apron. Now put on the hair net, and let's continue our journey through the world of ScrunchCakes.
Brian: It's not the whole world, is it? I thought we were just doing British Towns?
Dave: And when the health inspector comes back, he'll be impressed by our cultural heritage!
Green: Cultural heritage is usually more of a greenish hue to represent the countryside. Not a glowing ominous purple!
Dave: Don't be silly. Nobody wants to eat a green cake..
