AppStore is a wonderful place.
For the first time, I've actually made some money out of my games!!
Well done, Apple, on creating a wonderful ecosystem for indie devs.

...this iOS stuff isn't quick, is it!?
Week one, decide on game, start game..
Week two, keep tweaking annoyingly broken things in framework and get game done.
Submit game!

A nice and simple "Highscore" game.

Phase One was the simple test engine I release WAY WAY back in the very early stages of this humongous project.. .. last month!
Phase One was a basic engine, with simple platforming mechanics.
Taking the rules of NeonPlat and adding a scrolling background, I wanted to judge if it'd be enjoyed.
True, one piece of feedback was a little downbeat, but on the whole it's been well appreciated.
You can't please everyone, but the original's not broken, so hopefully that makes...

Too tired..
Instead, I've been working on Sheep Goes Left DS, which is proving 17,000,000,000% more popular than it's iOS rival.
Quite why, I don't know, but the fact that it's being mentioned quite a bit is a good sign.

Since I'm now doing AGameADay for a while, I figured it might be somewhat of a change of pace if I also did one of those "blog" things daily.
I tried doing this during my previous month off, and although it kinda worked, it didn't really last.. d'oh!
Still, try and try again!
As a reminder, I've set up a calendar alarm thing to bleep at me, every night, at 22:15GMT.
Either that'll work really well, or it'll start to tick me off, to the point where I throw my otherwise completely and ...

54 games. Last year I only managed about 30-odd, so I think that's pretty good going.
Sure, it might not have truely actually been A Game "Per" Week, but I did at least keep the ratio up.
If I hadn't taken the time out to build the framework, I probably would've actually achieved the target a little better
The stats show I was pretty much on top of things up until that point, but then things got slower and slower until my buffer zone was all dried up.
Anyhoo, this is a n...

As much as I tried to make the 2 versions compatible, I did mess a few things up along the way.
Plungers and Darts move at a slightly different speed, and even Platdude runs at a different "steps-per-block" speed, too.
It's not a whole lot of a difference, but there's enough changes to have broken some of the levels.
So, rather than having a "Load my Levels" option, I'm doing thi...

Late last night, as I was half-asleep and reading through Twitter, @Komiga asked me if I was going to be using any version tracking software for my lovely framework.
My twittered response was limited (by lack of sleep, and also 140 chrs!!), so I figured I should explain it a little better.
Last year, around about Alien Deathmatch/Centipong time, I built up my 2D-in-3D framework to work in Blitz3D.
It worked wonders, and let me achieve a ...

2010 Framework

The Linux test has worked on one test system.
The Linux test has NOT worked on another test system.
And that's all the replies I've had.. Not a whole lot of feedback there.
The broken version appears to have been entirely audio related, so I'm going to have to peek into BlitzMax's audio options today, and see what I can/can't do inside Linux, and otherwise shove in a few failsafe methods incase of broken audio.
(I'd rather fix it, than just declare it "Not wor...

Note : This is much more Game-Specific than my regular posts!
Bombliss is one of my favourite alternate Tetris games. It has all the playability of the original Tetris, and it also has bombs, and chain reactions and things, too.
Last night, I opened up the Tetris sourcecode for the Retro Collection, and started hacking away for it's Xtra Mode. (renamed so it looked more obvious on the menu) For reference, to start a Xtra Mode game, either hit X to start the game instea...
