A simple Breakout game with only one level.
Taking the "Keep it in play" scoring method from Centipong, I've tried to make it so that clearing the first level in breakout doesn't always result in exactly the same damn score every single feckin' time. .. That ALWAYS pissed me off!
So, keep the balls juggling to super-combo your score, and see how many points you can manage from just one wall.

Another week given away to my body's desire to make me be a lazy git!
I'd happily allow it, if I wasn't so damned busy!
Tonight, after a week of doing nothing, I now need to write a blog, write a newsletter, and then wake up and write another game..!
Thanks for that, Mr Migraine!!

It's been an incredibly un-British warm weekend, here. I'm not sure why.
But the past couple of nights have been spent without hardly any sleep at all.
I think I've had about 5 or 6 hours in the space of 48 hours, and.
.. I'm now wide awake. Which is really quite annoying!

Microsoft have "updated" my system so that all my games now run at about 1/3rd their normal speed.
Thanks, Microsoft! You're AWESOME!!!

A few hours with Monkey today.
A game idea was planned (finally!) and attempted, but I realised I had rotation issues.
Tried and tried to get the rotate and scaling working together with numerous results.
One time the sprites were rotating away from their midpoints, another they were scaling all over the place, and on and on it went..

Right now, we'll call this version 0.5.
The tool is at a working version, and most of the bugs are ironed out.
I'll update it as the weeks go by, and hopefully we'll have something Most Excellent by the end.

"Haniff" emailed me about 4 or 5 weeks ago, just as I was starting my lazyitis month, and asked if I could do a nice big video, showing how I create a game.
I wasn't going to rush a game, there and then, so I figured I'd record my first AGameAWeek once I got around to starting things up again..
Turns out I haven't recorded my first AGameAWeek, because this game's shit!
Still, here's a game.

Over at [Battle]Forum (|edit| I think this forum's long gone |edit|) they're having a nice chat about JNKPlat2010, and, more significantly, the insanity that is Shadow1w2's MASSIVE 100th level.
It's a fantastic level, but they just can't quite fathom it.
I had a go, today.

54 games. Last year I only managed about 30-odd, so I think that's pretty good going.
Sure, it might not have truely actually been A Game "Per" Week, but I did at least keep the ratio up.
If I hadn't taken the time out to build the framework, I probably would've actually achieved the target a little better
The stats show I was pretty much on top of things up until that point, but then things got slower and slower until my buffer zone was all dried up.
Anyhoo, this is a n...

Fred is a happy Flea, and he loves to hop.
He especially loves it when all the Dandelions are casting their seeds around in the air, as he can grab on, and go for a ride.

This week's game came out a whole lot better than I'd expected it to.
It's still not fantastic, but given that the game only just started to fall into place yesterday, it's not turned out so bad.

Mmm.. Editor!
You can play along inside the editor, just like in the last one, but things get a bit shrinkied this time.
The game scales down from 7*pixels to 4*pixels, so that a bunch of extra editor clickables can fit around the side.

My mum had a couple of games of Cardagain, today!
That's how far along it's come!!
In less than a week, I've not only finally managed to get a grip on the language, I'm actually making a pretty damn good game, too!
In the next couple of days, there's still a few bits and pieces to work on.

The game is only about half done, since I pretty much rushed the whole thing yesterday, but it has 10 nice levels, and should hopefully be a good start.

With all the Mac stuff, I've not had a chance to do a new game.

I suppose I could rush something in the next 24 hours, but I'm much rather be playing with those extra trimming, and getting things a little nicer.

First off, Gravity Bombs. Not touched it yet, but it definitely needs at least one tweak. .. the Mac's "Superior" (bah) Magic Mouse has a lot going for it, but it also has an inability to right click whilst holding down the left mouse button. Which is prett...

Cracking game, this week!
What started out as an unknown game, quickly became fantastically playable. A remake of the little WarioWare UFO Spike thing that I made last week, only with more spike things than is probably sane!
In the end, the game's turned out quite a lot like a Geometry Wars clone. I wasn't expecting that, but there it is!

Two fire buttons, Z for left fire, X for right fire. I wonder how long it'll take for people to realise that, without me having writ...

2beegames.com has, since May 1st, become IndiePub, but haven't bothered to claim indiepub.com domain, or indiepub.co.uk, or .net, or.. well.. whatever.

For the past month or two, they've been banging on and on about their all-new coming soon site, and how amazing and new it'll be. They were originally going for a nice bright yellow theme, with all nice sparkly-ness, and instead seem to have settled on kind of dull desaturated brown/orange theme, along with a complete identity change.
