Guess who still hasn't done the "Extra" feature, yet!
If I'm honest, I might go without it. It's very very very very clone'y, right now, and the Browsercade's not supposed to be that. .. Is it?!
*shrugs*

The Foldapuz game took a while to get started, mostly because I didn't have a bloomin' clue what to do. I'm definitely starting to run out of ideas for that thing.
Might be time to think about retiring it, or at the very least, not forcing myself to come up with something every single week.

Guide Jack through the maze trying to light up all the squares, but watch out for the evil ghosties!
The game was originally intended to be a Q*Bert clone, but with a less diagonal approach. People REALLY dislike the diagonal controls of Q*Bert!
Once flattened, however, the game actually ended up being more like Oh Mummy, with the end result being somewhere inbetween.
Quick reflexes necessary, and try not to fall!
You can Play Jack on the Blocks in the Browsercade in your browser, ...

I didn't want to make a "Proper" QBert clone because people really seem to hate the diagonal controls of QBert, so have instead made it flatter and squarer.

A decade is over, and what have I done?
373 games, created a new blogging script for here, rewritten the Socoder forum, started a few new sites and more!
Oh, and a brain tumour!
It's been a wild and crazy decade, and over the next few days I'll be looking back at the best (and worst) games from the decade.

Currently thinking I might do a Boulderdash clone, for Browsercade, but I'm not sure how good I can make it in just a couple of days.
Don't be surprised if this ends up as a two-week game, instead.
I have the "Multiple Direction" concept from 8-bit Boulders that I could easily reuse, but that needed hand-made levels.
I'm not sure I can successfully auto-generate levels for a game like that..

Today will be without a release, but there's not been an "AGameAWeek proper" for a long time, so I don't think anyone's going to be too disappointed by that fact!
But what of the rest of the week?

Al overshot the goal and starting going backwards. Is that correct?
I think so.!
This is something that I added to Snakes and Ladders, as it's been a rule we've always played at home, and since Board of Spikes is more or less a clone of Snakes and Ladders, I opted to leave that rule in.
If that wasn't the case, then there's be no need to use a specific card to end the game. I felt that was more important than just letting the player us...

Made a Yahtzee Clone, today.
To keep things as legal as possible, the scoring is marginally different, so be sure to read through the rules to get to grips with the exact sets of dice that you can get points for.
You can play Shoebox of Games here. "Dice Rolls" can be found in the new "Misc" section, where I've shifted Leapfrog to, so be aware of that.
In my head, Misc = "Can be played in reality" whereas Extra = "Probably a little bit too videogamey to count as a proper ShoeBox game...

I've still yet to get online scoreboards working, but for the meantime, this is the current version of the Emscripten based framework running Generic Snake Clone.
You can Play it in your Browser here!
Things should work fine in most browsers, but as with all things, Edge/Internet Explorer is a no-go!!
It should also run on iOS/Android, although the game doesn't use any mouse/touch input, so will be completely unplayable. Sorry about that!!

This week, RSKGames is one of very few players who've bothered to take a look at a bland and tasteless Generic Snake clone.
You can Download Generic Snake Game here

@RSKGames

All the trailers, screenshots and the hype from the devlogs for the generic snake game might have confused the regular readers of the blog what is all the fuss about. I guess the hype was about the story in the generic snake game.

I've no plans for this week.
If anyone has any suggestions, let them be known! You can either comment below, stick it in the Mailbag (on the right of the menu bar), or twitter, or email, or whatever other methods you might like to try.
I might try to do a Centipong, but I've never really decided how best to expand it.
