A decade is over, and what have I done?
373 games, created a new blogging script for here, rewritten the Socoder forum, started a few new sites and more! Oh, and a brain tumour! It's been a wild and crazy decade, and over the next few days I'll be looking back at the best (and worst) games from the decade. Views 148, Upvotes 8

Keep the Microbes at bay with your big giant ray!
Spin yourself around the arena, and shoot for survival. Don't let any of the Microbes get beyond the outer reaches of the arena. If you've a Switch, and have downloaded SmileBASIC, you can grab a copy of the game using the Public Key... Views 85, Upvotes 8

The Week Ahead
Blog
7th August 2019
The Microbes game is coming along nicely for Petit Switch, and I *think* I'm making a Minigolf for Shoebox, but that all depends on how well the controls work.

Thoughts..

One of the hardest things, moving ahead, is going to be coming up with all the ideas for all the different sets of games that I'm making.
Currently the Petit Switch and Browsercade games are simple rewrites of older games, but at some point I'm definitely going to have to make a few new ones. Views 79, Upvotes 7

With so many games to play, there's oodles of feedback for each.
Let's see what RSKGames thought of this week's game! @RSKGamesOverview: A fast paced circular bullet hell game. I liked it better than the ''Orbital Projections'' and ''The Trouble with Vents'' which till day I can never play properly. Views 146, Upvotes 21

The enemies for this week's game are slightly different than I imagined, but they seem to be spawning and roaming about the level in a decent way.

Busy Weekend

We had family and friends over, this weekend, so I haven't had much time for coding. Even so, ideas have been bubbling away in my mind.

A Lovely Sunny Day

8th July 2018
Took a bit of a rest period, yesterday, and enjoyed the sun.
Of course, with the football on, I needed something to take my mind off it, and so spent a couple of hours fixing up more posts in the archive of the blog. Views 49, Upvotes 15

New Archive?
Blog
8th November 2014
Ok, so, I need a new archive.
It's been a good number of years since I originally created the Jayenkai Archive, and although the software's lasted through a fair number of rethemes, and a fair number of enhancements over the years, it all still pretty much has the exact same issues that it did on day one. Views 24, Upvotes 3

Leaderboards!!! :D
Blog
20th March 2014
.. Sorry, I haven't suddenly added them.
Instead, I've made this post in the hopes of starting a discussion on the feasibility of adding scoreboards to future AGameAWeek titles. It's something I've attempted in the past, and old versions of Microbes, Spider and others still kind-of, mostly, sort of work. But there's a few issues that are stopping me from integrating it into the current framework. Views 28, Upvotes 4

This time last year, I reattempted the game Microbes, but it didn't really work out as well as I'd hoped for. This year, I opted to give it another go, and have mixed in oodles of lovely glowyness! Seems to have done the trick!

Just a few short hours ago, I hadn't yet started a game for Tuesday, so in a vaguely panicked state, I decided to cobble something together.
I've attempted this game a few times in the past couple of years, and each time I've tried, it's never quite come up to the same standard as the original and it's sequel. A remake, this week, of a popular old game, but one which appears to have lost it's powerups along the way.
The game plays well enough, but it feels somewhat lacking. Perhaps a little community-driven inspiration might help bulk it back up again? Views 79, Upvotes 12

iOS Making Steps
Blog
1st July 2011
Today I'm focussing my blog on iOS trials and tribulations. The basic steps of designing a game when working with iOS.
These are pretty simple things, and should be apparent, but .. having played a fair number of iOS games.. they're not always done! Note, this isn't really about my actual development, as such, more the train of thought that generates the end result. In a future bloggy thing, I might focus more on the what/where, than the how/why that this does. Let me know if ... Views 48, Upvotes 14

iOS Day
Blog
29th June 2011
Today I did a bucket of iOS dev, but not the think I'd been doing previously.
As with a whole lot of other iOS half finished games, it seems that Microbes (MLG) will be stuck in it's special little rut until I can fathom some sort of difficulty level system that actually tries to kill the player, rather than kinda bob about a bit. Meanwhile... Views 17, Upvotes 5
