Late last night, NeonPlat Raw appeared on the OUYA Dashboard for the very first time.
This is kind of a big deal, in that it's the first time one of my games has officially been released on an actual physical home-console.
True, it's not a "PROPER" console, but .. Hey, it's a box with a controller that plugs into my telly.
And it's got my games on it!

Testing time, again.
Today, I purchased 2 very different, yet entirely similar devices.
First, a wire. Very cheap!
It allows me to plug an X360 controller into my Nexus7 device, and use it as an ingame controller, but only on games which support it.

This week, (URL "https://twitter.com/caffeinekid">@CaffeineKid) released his latest Android-based remake, a classic from the world of the 80s!!
A lovely retro game from the age of static screens, and proper dungeon crawling, where the game had to have actual gameplay, because in those days, you couldn't rely on 50 bazillion polygons to wow the audience. You had to have a bloody good game!!!

BlastTraxFAQs

What's with the track?

BlastTrax was originally devised as a classic Retro-styled GrandPrix-like racing game, with weapons.
You would drive through the course, shoot the other drivers, and make your way through to the end.

Rather than have a bunch of different posts all over the place, as usually seems to be the case here, I thought I'd create a game-specific page and dump all the reviews onto it.

BlastTrax seems to be gaining a teensy bit of attention, although exactly how much of that is due to one particular reviewer bombarding me with his over-excitement, thus making it feel like there's a bunch of excitement when in fact it's only his...

1I had planned to make a semi-sequel to NeonPlat, this week.
I'm not really sure why that didn't happen!
Instead, we have a nice swimming floating game, which is in no way inspired by the diving in Animal Crossing..
... AT ALL!!!!

Another week, another sequel.
This week, we're revisiting the puzzle-maze world of Kee, Bo and Ard (Occasionally spelled "Key, Bo and Ard" due to me forgetting the spelling of the green character's name!)
I also need a couple of features tested, so there's quite a bit of rambling included below this post!

AGameAWeek Gold is our daily trawl through the Jayenkai Archives, to dig out any games that might have been released, on this day in history.
For the most part, there's some real stinkers in amongst this lot.
But every so often, we'll come across a real gem.

AGameAWeek Gold looks back through the huge archive each day, to see if I've previously released anything on this day. There's not always a game to play, but occasionally we'll stumble upon long forgotten gems.
Today's is especially nice!

Many many many many many people have asked me how on earth I manage to cram game making into the space of a single week.
Ironically, most of those people seem to have forgotten that they, themselves, have previously taken part in Ludum Dare "Make a game in only 48 hours" style competitions.
Hmm..!
Anyway, today's rambling waffling blog is about the steps I take to ensure I can achieve AGameAWeek.

The Amiga was nearing the end of its life cycle and my local Game store was slowly getting rid of its Amiga stuff. It was sad to find all your favourite games crammed into that little corner of the store where only the geekiest kids would huddle.
Then one day, I spotted a bright blue stripy box.

I'm at odds over this one.
The first possible launch date is Feb 23rd.
Feb 23rd is my birthday, and for the last two years, has also been SpikeDislike=FREE Day on iOS.
It'd be nice to have SpikeDislike2 Day on the same day, but then I'd also need to get it onto the AppStore by that date, and ... that's a wee bit tricky!
It'd mean I'd have to get the iOS App submitted by around about this time next week, and .. yikes. that's cutting it a bit close, especi...

2013 Framework
13th January 2013
As I continue to build up the new Monkey-based framework, I have a lot of things to test, and get working.
As most of you have noticed, I tend to forget things, like "hey, your game doesn't quit when I hit Alt+F4!???.. That little thing took years for me to bother to implement!!
In order to build the best framework that I can, I'll be needing pokes and prods along the way.
I also need a fair number of testbeds, to try out everything on.
If you'd like to join in, stick yo...

The truth is, I've never owned a laptop!

It seems that, since coming out of hospital, there's been a multitude of great things that I seem to be looking forward to.
New Doctor Who, new Red Dwarf, new iPhone, new Wii and then all the great shows that I'd missed whilst I was stuck in hospital, too!
It's like a great big bucket of hype, and it keeps on coming.
As a developer, I'm going to have to buy a new iDevice, to ensure all my games work in the all-new quirky widescreen resolution.
I'll be going for an...

The other day I suggested that a new set of AGameADay might be in order, since I'm totally stuffed for ideas, lately.
Out of ideas, make the requirement more.... Sure, that makes sense, right?!
Anyhoo, today I spent . um.. all day.. doing yet another one of those Framework things that I apparently love to do.
This time I used PlayMyCode.com, and the resulting menu/score/game thing has actually worked out quite nicely.
