Oh boy, 15 years has really flown by!

On 4th August 2008, I decided to rebrand the entire website as AGameAWeek.com
For the past number of years, I'd been doing weekly games based on the Wednesday Workshop.. A weekly coding challenge, over at SoCoder.. But as other people gradually gave up due to general exhaustion and .. you know.. not ever having enough time to faff away making silly games each week.. I found myself being the only one making these little weekly games.

And so I bought the domain AGameAWeek.com, reskinned my wordpress theme, and set about gathering together my general insanity into a disorganised hub of chaos.



In the 15 years since, I've rebuilt the site on numerous occasions, integrating the game archive, music archive, pixelart archive and more into one single self-made script. The site grew far too wildly for Wordpress to cope with, sanely, so a more minimalistic script had to be written that could cope with everything without using up insane levels of resources!



As for the content.. Well, I haven't honestly been doing one game a week.
There are frequent breaks due to me overdoing things, which has caused numbers to drop a fair amount.
There's been Advent Calendars during a number of Decembers, with daily games that have bumped the numbers up significantly.
There's been times when I've somehow managed to make up to three games every week.
And then there's 2012, when I got floored by brain surgery and missed about 9 months.. Oh, the fun..



But in the 15 years since I relaunched the site, I've created a whopping 750 games!!! It might not have been every week, but it averages out to about 50 games a year, which is ever so slightly just under one game for every week since the creation of AGameAWeek.com

Over the coming months, I'm hoping to expand on the main sites that I'm trying to keep going, as well as maybe start work on this year's Advent Calendar of Games, though quite what this year's methodology for that might be, I'm not sure.
