A graph of all the available data from the Archive. May not be entirely accurate, but shows approximately that I've gotten better at scheduling AGameAWeek. As it reaches 2013/14 it all gets a little smoother! 2011 is where (URL "https://AGameAWeek.com/2011/06/agameaday/">I attempted AGameADay for a little while), so it all gets a bit busy. .. My Spreadshirt AGameAWeek store has been available for many years, but is rarely ever bothered with.. .. Usually because I never bother to link to it! Yesterday I posted the "Evolution of Dude" pic, and someone on Twitter suggested it'd make a nice TShirt. ...Yeah, why not!! So, today, I'm reopening (and/or re-using!) the store, and have added the (URL "https://agameaweek.spreadshirt.co.uk/evolution-of-dude-tshirt-A28273211/customize/color/4">Evolution of Dude TShirt.) Yesterday I tweeted that Blockman Worlds isn't doing too well, at which point I got bombarded by people telling me that they've played it, and how I oughta give it time to spread. Yeah, probably.. Thing is, though, I'm finding myself comparing it to Future Classics..

Last night, I closed my laptop the lazy-man's way, by simply shutting the lid. I should know better. It never quite manages to "Resume Windows" without buggering something up along the way. This morning, it didn't boot at all, and I've spent most of the day doing the big format/reinstall stuff. At the time of typing this, I'm battling with Android and Java SDKs, desperately trying to get that stuff up and running again. Monkey's managing HTML5 and Windows targets, but OUYA and Android are currently o...

I love my iOS devices, and I love the iOS Ecosystem. I also love that iOS has (so far) been the only bloomin' way that I've managed to sell my games in a fruitful manner. (Android sales have been.. *shrugs* Pisspoor!!) In order to get a Monkey-x game onto iOS, I first need to transfer the code to the Mac (Drag 'n' Drop over the network) then recompile with a few choice tweaks along the way. The game then needs approximately 738 different icons, which all look the same, but are marginally different si...

There are hundreds of great sites that I should probably link to, and much like linking to my hundreds of games, I've always found it a bit of a mess once I start trying to cram it all into a small sidebar on the right of the site. As such, I've finally opted to create one great big link-page, full of everything I could think of within the short hour or so that it took to add it! If you're missing from this page, let me know!! <table border="1px" cellpadding="2" width="100%"> <t...

Welcome to the Top 13 AGameAWeek Games of 2013 No other Top-10 lists appear to want to give any of my games any recognition at all, which kinda sucks since I've made a whole bunch of REALLY great games, this year! I don't even get a token "Made a shitload of games, this year" mention! Sucks!! So, sod them all, I'll make my own Top-10 list. And it'll be all my games, and I'll even add a few more just to make it a bit more 2013 relevant. That'll show 'em!! Mwa-ha-haaa!!!

NeonPlat Extreme sees most of the elements of the NeonPlat series of games, all cobbled together into one great big lump sum. Yet another case of AGameAWeek Gold being strangely interconnected with other events in my life!! Today, I posted about Star Trek Pong 3 earlier today, and it got me thinking about the even older Amiga edition. Curiously, I also recently purchased a USB Capture device for my PC. I wanted to output all my consoles and computers through my PC's monitor. It has a HDMI port, but a Scart->HDMI device seemed a little pricey. Being the cheapskate that I am, I instead settled for a Capture device, which bas...

It feels like AGES since I last posted a Sheep Goes Right test. In fact, it's been just over a month. October 14th was the last version, and today I'm posting a second test release. This time, I'm releasing an APK for OUYA. For testing purposes, this should also work on Android devices, but it's untested, and I'm not exactly sure how Monkey copes with things like that! ..it'll have a great big overscan border, for starters!!! Anyway, if you've an OUYA, I'd appreciate a quick test, and some feedback....

As the AGameAWeek guy, I'm certainly used to shrugging off failed releases, and in many ways this one should be exactly the same. This is simply one of many releases that I've made this year, and over the course of the year, pretty much all the games have had a day or two of interest, and then quickly...

Late last night, NeonPlat Raw appeared on the OUYA Dashboard for the very first time. This is kind of a big deal, in that it's the first time one of my games has officially been released on an actual physical home-console. True, it's not a "PROPER" console, but .. Testing time, again. Today, I purchased 2 very different, yet entirely similar devices. First, a wire. Very cheap! This week, (URL "https://twitter.com/caffeinekid">@CaffeineKid) released his latest Android-based remake, a classic from the world of the 80s!! A lovely retro game from the age of static screens, and proper dungeon crawling, where the game had to have actual gameplay, because in those days, you couldn't rely on 50 bazillion polygons to wow the audience. You had to have a bloody good game!!! ( width="480" height="360" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/HXjFlWNxxGs" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen>

What's with the track?

BlastTrax was originally devised as a classic Retro-styled GrandPrix-like racing game, with weapons. You would drive through the course, shoot the other drivers, and make your way through to the end. I started work on the game, made a nice retro-styled GrandPrix racetrack, added a few little cars, and then.. .. And that was when (URL "https://www.foppygames.nl/">@FoppyGames) decided to launch his Retro-styled GrandPrix racing game. D'oh! True, min...

Rather than have a bunch of different posts all over the place, as usually seems to be the case here, I thought I'd create a game-specific page and dump all the reviews onto it. <img src="https://socoder.net/uploads/1/BlastTrax_Logo.png"> BlastTrax seems to be gaining a teensy bit of attention, although exactly how much of that is due to one particular reviewer bombarding me with his over-excitement, thus making it feel like there's a bunch of excitement when in fact it's only his own exc...

Scores are based on distance travelled, and cars passed.

Many many many many many people have asked me how on earth I manage to cram game making into the space of a single week. Ironically, most of those people seem to have forgotten that they, themselves, have previously taken part in Ludum Dare "Make a game in only 48 hours" style competitions. Hmm..! Anyway, today's rambling waffling blog is about the steps I take to ensure I can achieve AGameAWeek.
