1. People seem utterly baffled by the start-screen of Browsercade. I put that there, because a lot of browsers need a single click before they initiate any audio, but seemingly people are instead "waiting" for it, and think the thing's broken. D'oh!!

The gradient background in the above screenshot has been drawn to a secondary canvas, which is then redrawn onto the main canvas. This seems to work reasonably well, and should hopefully allow for a fair number of generated backgrounds and other such effects, without requiring huge 1024x1024 background images to be downloaded. The whole thing runs a little slowly on my Samsung Galaxy 10 A, however, so I'm going to have to add an option to disable the buffer when necessary. But otherwise.. Yeah.. W...

The fact that the die is white at the beginning of your turn, and also white after you roll makes it unclear at a glance whether the die's current value is your actual move. Not sure what the solution is. Maybe dimming the die or displaying question marks on its faces in pre-roll mode, and the normal white with pips in post-roll mode? A valid point. The "Popomatic" function has a "Locked/Unlocked" value, so I can use that to decide when to draw v1 or v2. I'll have a pl...

You might've noticed the top-bar of Recent Games is currently (slowly!) changing. I've decided it's probably a good idea to start adding Foldapuz and Shoebox games in, with the intention of further adding Browsercade games to the archive once that's up and running.

As each game is released, players like RSKGames and <insert name here> send oodles of feedback for about the game. Let's see how they all thought about Dots and Squares! You can Play Dots and Squares in the Shoebox in the One on One section.

@RSKGames

Playing in the mobile, I find that sometimes I connect the wrong dots but in PC with mouse it works fine.

As the collection grows ever onwards, people send feedback for the various oddities that I create. You can Play Tower Solitaire in the Shoebox, under the Card Games.

@RSKGames says..

For regular Solitaire players this version might need some time to get used to as the card that is required to build the tower is not one less or one more of the cards in stack but follows a simple rule. Yeah, it's a slightly different strategy, but it makes things a lot tougher when you end up with a v...

@RSKGames suggests.. Can you consider making a version of the new AGAW JS mega compilation into an electron app so that you can retain the online scoreboard. In a electron app I think you can restrict users getting into the dev console. I'll have a look into it.

I spent a good few hours trying to figure out why my MacMini wasn't connecting to the net. I mean, it WAS, but it seemed much slower than usual.

After a LOT of edit/undo, copy/paste, delete/delete work, I think I've found a style of graphics that works for the furniture of the game.

I should really finish off Mancala's "Laps" stuff. I think that's probably going to be today's task. But after that, what game comes next?

Mancala's coming along nicely, now. I think!! All the Landing rules seem to be working, and the game-end stuff is also functional, but AL's still not very good at the game, so a little more work on AL is needed. But, definitely getting there! *phew*

Record time for player feedback! Let's have a nosey. You can Play Shuffled Tracks in the Extras section of the Shoebox.

RSKGames

Played ''Shuffled Tracks'' and was quite surprised to find such a polished game done in 2 days. You'd be surprised.. ... The game was almost ready to go, yesterday!! Most of today's coding session was spent fixing up the generator to make the levels more difficult.

The AI is now at least managing to play without murdering my laptop! A quick rewrite of the WordList, and a little bit of learning a bit more of Javascript's abilities, and I've now got things streamlined a little more. The next will be to add a bit more intelligence to the AI. As you can see in the screenshot above, all four AI players seem to be fairly balanced, but aren't exactly scoring massively. That'll be the next task, now that things aren't insanely slow and, deadly to my ...

Crikey, this ain't easy! But AL's slowly getting "better", in a "Not exactly more intelligent, but at least not murdering my fan!" sort of way. I need to get him to play with his letters a little better, though. He currently plonks tiny little 2-letter words down, when his rack has a really obvious word in it. .. But.. Yeah, getting there!!

I spent a good number of hours, yesterday, looking online for any rulesets that might make "Beleaguered Castle Solitaire" any better, but failed miserably to find anything. I did find a number of alternative solitaires that claimed to make the game a little harder, though, so.. Um.. Yeah, ok!!

Today I played Board of spikes and Ludo in android mobile. This is the first time I am playing shoebox of games in mobile and I found it to be a very good experience. Took a little bit of effort to place the ludo pieces initially but then it became easier.

Still on a bit of a go-slow, here. It doesn't help that the weather's been absolutely gorgeous over the past few days, so much so that the need to sit and relax in the sunshine has taken precedence over standard coding duties.

Amazing how much a funeral hits you. I spent all day yesterday sitting about, playing Smash Bros, watching various YouTube things, and generally not really bothering to do any sort of coding whatsoever. Maybe today will be more productive?

Meanwhile..

Over on the Testing the Width post..
