I've spent the past couple of days trying to get a doodle-box working, which users can then use to scribble over selected Foldapuz puzzles, on their mobile devices.

I spent a fair amount of time, yesterday, working on a new feature for Foldapuz.

As I reached game #18 on Foldapuz, I realised that there's a very distinct possibility that I might yet manage to hit the current 62-game limit.

I did a major rewrite of the layout code, today, and it broke EVERYTHING!!! All "Yesterday's Solutions" are no longer valid for today, and all puzzles have been re-generated. The reason is so that the layouts can be expanded to MANY more puzzle types. Previously the Layout format was 8-characters, meaning you have up to 62 different puzzle types (A-Z, a-z, 0-9) Although I'm not 100% sure I'll ever reach that limit, I figured it was probably a good idea to bump that number a little, since...

Made another new Foldapuz game, yesterday.

Added Wordoku, which makes use of a pre-generated list of layouts. (From a self coded generator, created using BlitzMax) 2048 layouts are in the file, and on top of that you've got a random selection and then a random selection of missing tiles, so I think (!?) it should be plenty random for days/weeks/months to come. But I'm also starting to get a little worried about whether the random number generator is doing a good enough job. I might have to peek into that, to be sure, but it'll com...

And we're already halfway through!!

I've spent most of today tweaking the Level Database's frontend. The main page now looks a teensy bit more usable, and it even displays the first level from the latest 5 level packs available. (Although, as of right now, it's only showing 4.. .. because there's only 4!!)

Added Alternating Maze. Make a path from the marked Start and End points, where each step is on an alternate coloured tile. A nice and simple game that makes secondary use out of the normal Find A Path code, but tweaks it just enough to be different, and quite a bit harder, too.

The very first two JNKPlat Level Pack uploads, one by me and the other by RSKGames, have our names missing. Now, I'm not 100% sure what's caused that, but I have a feeling that's a User-Error issue, combined with "The upload database doesn't do updates" one. To double check, I created a quick new level pack and uploaded that. It did indeed pop up with my name on it, so ... As far as I can tell, that's probably not an actual issue. I'll know for sure, later today, as I faff ab...

Platforming with Puzzles!

OK, JNKPlat's practically done.

I've finally got the 3DS version working again!

*sigh* The 3DS version is no longer working. It's doing that old "memory issue crash" thing again, and I'm struggling to track it down. I think I'll give up trying to launch, today. Maybe tomorrow!!

Those last few tweaks have taken up most of the day!

Ever so close, now!

I'm getting incredibly close to the end, now.

The online JNKPlat Level site now seems to be function "enough", with the download functions all working properly.

The JNKPlat Level Uploader's functioning about 85%, now.

The main level uploader is now working as well as intended, and the downloader, too is functioning the way it oughta. Next I need to make the web-based uploader work just as neatly.

Spent most of today figuring out the best way to organise all my home photos.

Another set of levels, a few more background tweaks, and a bunch more fixes to the image loading. JNKPlat2018 is a little bit closer, today.

With the 3DS version freaking out about memory issues again, I've decided to reformat a few of the elements in JNKPlat to make it a little bit leaner.

Late last night I decided to add a bog-standard Chess puzzle to Foldapuz.

Added Eight Queens to the mix. It's an age old puzzle that's existed in newspapers for as long as I can remember, and was alarmingly simple to add into the mix. I'd like to do another Chess based puzzle, but it's proving a teensy bit more complex to generate, and I honestly don't think it's all that difficult to solve once it has done! A puzzle for another day. The Chess Pieces are drawn using the font "Chess Alpha", which I found on this page.
