It's been a decade since the horrors of my brain tumour/cyst gubbins, and over the past couple of days I've been kind of a bit gloomy, and have sat reading through memories of what is easily one of the worst periods of my life.
Oh joy!!

Watched an alarming amount of Red Dwarf, yesterday.
Working backwards for a change, I managed all of Season 12 and a bit of Season 11, too.
Suppose I should get some coding done, today, but after the past week of at-home chaos, I think my brain's shut down.
I'll see if I can manage to code anything, today, or whether I'll be watching Lemons by the end of the day.

It's 7 years since I first posted the Jiggity post, waffling on about my health, and the tumour, and all of that gubbins.
As is tradition, here's my annual health update post!
Feel free to skip by this post, it's all about my crappy health issues, and since nothing's changed, you probably know it all anyway!

Mancala's coming along nicely, now. I think!!
All the Landing rules seem to be working, and the game-end stuff is also functional, but AL's still not very good at the game, so a little more work on AL is needed.
But, definitely getting there!
*phew*

You probably have read up on these things already, but just in case you weren't sure, a ''trie'' is not a ''tree'', it's its own thing

Alan

Al overshot the goal and starting going backwards. Is that correct?
I think so.!
This is something that I added to Snakes and Ladders, as it's been a rule we've always played at home, and since Board of Spikes is more or less a clone of Snakes and Ladders, I opted to leave that rule in.
If that wasn't the case, then there's be no need to use a specific card to end the game. I felt that was more important than just letting the player us...

A simple Snakes'n'Ladders style game, using cards.

Use one of the cards from your hand to select how many spaces you'll move. If you land on a Spike, turn it over to see what will happen. You'll either end up moving forwards or backwards, so lets hope that luck is on your side.
You can Find 'Board of Snakes' in the Board Games of the Shoebox.

@RSKGames

I was very lucky that in my first game I did not get into any snake tiles and got the help of one ladder tile to reach near the end zone much before the AI.
Yup, this is a game 100% down to luck.
I'd like to perhaps remove the sheer-luck, by making the moves maybe Card based, or something? Not quite sure how well that would work, and it honestly wouldn't be "Snakes and Ladders" anymore.
So.. Perhaps another type of board game in the future?

The gfx in the credits screen has a very good looking swirling ghost effect.
And what a lovely effect it is!

@RSKGames

Yesterday I had submitted 2 comments on the blog with link to 2 pictures I had uploaded in socoder.
Hmm.. Well, I suppose that's probably my over-reactive Spam control in action, which perma-deletes anything that looks even slightly dodgy. (eg, URLs and things like that) I imagine that all the _'s and brackets in the text also probably added to the trigger-count, which would've ended up blocking your comment from even getting to the comment bin.
Sincere apologies ...

Although August 13th isn't a significant date in my health matters, it is the date that I wrote this rather lengthy blog post, back in 2012.
It's now become a bit of a tradition for me to post an annual update on this date.
