OK, folk are getting intrigued as to how all of this is working, and how nice the Monkey language is to work with, so in the spirit of not being a complete and total git, here's the complete everything that there is so far..

The Download

Framework Downloads have been removed due to lack of updates!
I've also left the html5 build intact, so you can give it a little run if you don't have Monkey installed. (I think!)
Should be as simple as going into the .build folder, t...

About a month ago, Twitterer @McFunkyPants declared that it might be a fun target for him to attempt one game a month, over 2013.
Other devs took interest, and within a couple of days, his whole OneGameAMonth idea had taken hold of the indie community.
@McFunkyPants has since created a handy community website at (URL "https://onegameamonth.com"> where devs can sign up, and earn XP points as they build their monthly warez.
The community now holds more than 2000 members, and is growing! C...

Another day, another install..
About 12 months ago, my bedroom PC basically crapped it's pants, and became an inexplicably unusable box that sat in the corner of the room.
Knowing I'd need to format, I hunted for the Vista install disc, then remembered that..
A) Vista didn't bloody well come with one (Buying from Comet would've been handy, there!)

Got the Google Plus thing today and spent about an hour or so playing about with it's features.
Twitter Lists seems the closest thing to it, in that you follow people, separate them into different groups, then flick through the groups to read/interact.
Unlike Twitter Lists, though, here the grouping works both ways.. Now I could happily clump a bunch of iOS reviewers into a single group and quickly fire off a PR'ish spam bucket to all of 'em at once, without pissing off all my regular "we want c...

The other day I suggested that a new set of AGameADay might be in order, since I'm totally stuffed for ideas, lately.
Out of ideas, make the requirement more.... Sure, that makes sense, right?!
Anyhoo, today I spent . um.. all day.. doing yet another one of those Framework things that I apparently love to do.
This time I used PlayMyCode.com, and the resulting menu/score/game thing has actually worked out quite nicely.

This week, I started a game on a grid.
It started well enough, with a lovely grid-doodling method making nice colourful griddy squares, and a simple circle on the top for the player. Then I got to the point where I had to do character movement, and my head just kinda went "Ugh.. I just can't be arsed!!"

How the smeg did I screw up the counting, last week?! I mean, REALLY!! I have a Google Spreadsheet that's supposed to be counting all this!
Bah!
Spreadsheet reorganised, and counting fixed.
Silly thing..

Release
18th October 2010
This week's been super jolly.
First, I couldn't settle back into the AGAW mood, then when I finally started a proper game, my Neck decided to completely screw up again, and I spent the next day and a half doing a kind of "1 line of code, 3 hours sleep" type thing.
Today, I'm coding better.
Which is probably just the right time for my PC to crap it's pants.

Time to pick a new Jingle.
I'm thinking that Year 3 should be marked, slightly, by tweaking the intro jingle a little, so I've gathered together a handful, and popped them all here.

54 games. Last year I only managed about 30-odd, so I think that's pretty good going.
Sure, it might not have truely actually been A Game "Per" Week, but I did at least keep the ratio up.
If I hadn't taken the time out to build the framework, I probably would've actually achieved the target a little better
The stats show I was pretty much on top of things up until that point, but then things got slower and slower until my buffer zone was all dried up.
Anyhoo, this is a n...

Simply put, Awesome!!!
Hop around, grab the balls, throw them at the bad guys, and paint all the white floor tiles in the colour of your pants!

There are four difficulty modes on the titlescreen, and you can play Co-Op style with up to four players simultaneously!!! (although, you all have to be using the one system. Still haven't learned to do any Network stuff, yet!!)

Folk who currently have the editor should be aware that there's a slight bug with the far right, and lower sides of the levels! Try not to go too far!! Thanks! I probably mis-counted something, somewhere, and it's all gone a bit pants!
Otherwise everything should, hopefully, be working just fine. Although I'm a little disappointed that I didn't test that. It popped into my mind a couple of days ago, but I was too busy trying to get the encoding to work that it then popped right ba...

To the 7 people who asked, the editor has been sent.
This kinda counts as a release, but since it's not a public release, it also kinda doesn't.
2 weeks in, and the game's coming along in leaps and bounds. There's a couple of DS08 tiles that aren't in there yet, but otherwise it's about the same game.

Centipong has been wrought with issues since day 56. It's been a bit of a pain, but for a whole bunch of obscure reasons.
I'm up to my last day, and I just wanted you folks to expect something slight odd with this release.
See, the thing is, as much as this IS Centipong TWO, I didn't really want to tread the exact same path.
I've already done Centipong, and Centipong Jr in Java, and Centipong DS as well.
And starting this project seemed like a great idea, but it'...

I've had a couple of emails about the donate button already, so thought I should clarify why it's there.
I write a game a week.. Sometimes they're good, sometimes their rubbish, and sometimes they're really fun, playable, and can keep you playing for a good few hours.
I can do this, because I have a lot of free time. And by "a lot of free time", I mean A LOT of free time.
The webhost is pretty much minimal cost (GoDaddy), the programming languages range from 0 cost (DS/XN...

I'm not sure if you figured it out from the picture I posted the other day, but it seems that the project I'm currently working on in XNA will turn out to be Centipong.
To be honest, I wasn't actually planning to do Centipong!
I was actually just shoving in a basic sprite, and getting it bobbing around on the screen, in order to duplicate my basic "Blitz 2D-in-3D" command set within the XNA environment.
So far that's working out rather well, and I've near enough created...

So, I spent a while, last night, playing with the graphics.
Now that the game's out there, and since so many people are complaining about it's lack of fancyness, I decided to make nice with the special weapons..
<img src="https://socoder.net/uploads/1/whooshy.png">
The game's now officially 75% More Whooshy, with the superweapons looking much more fancypants, and the dead baddies giving off a little red "poof!" as they go.
I've also switched the ingame text from...

Another week working on Alien Deathmatch means another week that I've not done AGameAWeek, so it's back into the big bag of failures to see if we can dig anything new out.
No..
But, the lack of anything new, and finished, doesn't always mean nothing on this Blog.. Let's bring back the old "Experimental" tag from way back when, and show off a few random bits of unfinished garbage.

This week's Wednesday Workshop <a href="https://socoder.net/index.php?topic=1206">#166</a> asked for us to create a game that uses lots of Balance.
I couldn't come up with anything!
So, instead, here's JNKPlat DS 08.

It's a complete restart of the engine, coded wholly from start, but using the old sprites so as to keep the good old fashioned style of the last one! (Although, had...
