SpikeDislike2 has just had a nice big update on the iOS AppStore, and I'm now thinking about what to add next, so I figured I'd make a nice rambling blog about it.
That's what this is!!
You can buy (URL "https://itunes.apple.com/app/id604867277">SpikeDislike2 in the AppStore)! It's nice and cheap, and full of lovely juicy stuff!

Luckily, a new iOS App has come along to save me the trouble.
The wonderful "TimeHop" is available (for free), and allows you to upload your Twitter Archive, as well as include your Facebook timeline.. What it then does is scan the archives for things that have happened on t...

I've been asked to chip in on this whole Kickstarter issue. If you follow me on Twitter (@Jayenkai) you'll have noticed my dislike of people spamming my twitter feed with constant requests for cash. It's annoying when you get into the busy periods, have your own cash issues to worry about, but still get bombarded by tens of hundreds of requests a day for things that don't yet exist.
As a cash strapped indie dev, I'm in exactly the same situation as most of these guys, with the si...

Big interview number two has shown up online, over at Indiegamer.com.
Last week I was sent a bunch of questions, so I took a bit of time answering them, and sent the replies.
.. yes, telling you that is probably a bit redundant, but otherwise this entire post would consist of just a link to the interview.
Content! Padding! Awesome!!

Another Sunday in hospital.
Since I posted last Tuesdays game, I've been cooped up in an NHS bed, waiting..
A "something" was found in a CT scan, an ambulance called, something drained, and now its a case of waiting around to see exactly what that something turns out to be.
It's annoying to think that, nearly two whole weeks later, I'm still sat here. I still have a headache, and I still have a sore neck.

Yesterday was the #Indievisibility awards ceremony, which involved a bunch of indie guys, a pub, a brawl and a number of teabags.
Awards were given for all manner of things.. Different genres, games with certain features and other seemingly random reasons.
You can scan through a list of all the Awards here, and read all about the joys of the fight!
Awesome!

Luckily, he decided against that, and has now shifted gears to a much more manageable 52 games a year, or AGameAWeek if you will.
As I always say, I'll wish you all the best on your quest.
It's a toughy.

As I was falling asleep, last night, I had a great idea for a new game.
I didn't jot it down, and now I can't remember what it was, except it had something to do with a stickman running around a black and white maze.

bugger..

Thanks to darthvid who sent all those questions over the other morning. A nice surprise to wake up to!
Kinda makes me want to do more of the same..

That's the third donation this month.
Quite frankly I'm gobsmacked by the generosity of people at a time when, to be fair, AGameAWeek's actually been a bit shit!

AGameAWeek teaches us one thing.
Some games you win, some games you lose.
When you lose, there's not a lot you can do.
Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and move on.

I enjoyed my Month Off!
I've written a lovely quickstart framework, I've built a game and a half, I've posted more Tube vids and Tweets in a month than any month previously, I've tried to keep up the blog, AND I even had time to relax!!
A few games of GTA and Burnout meant my X360 was switched on for the first time in over a year!
I've been playing YouDon'tKnowJack on the iPod (Highly recommended, even if it is Americanised questions), and listening to months worth ...

This isn't going to be a "You thieving bunch of bastards" post.
I know this goes on. There's no point trying to stop it.
Unless Apple want to show me a list of who did and didn't buy my app, there's sod all I can do about it.
I can only urge people to bother to buy my game. Because it's really fucking good!

After a lot of back and forth, I decided to write a how-to, so any future requests could go a little bit smoother!
Here's some info on how to make 'em, alongside a bunch of all-important rules.

Or, to put it another way, this game got to about 70% done, I got really stupidly bored with it, I lost interest, and I still bothered to get it to about 92%. At 92%, I gave up.
Here's a game at 92%.

54 games. Last year I only managed about 30-odd, so I think that's pretty good going.
Sure, it might not have truely actually been A Game "Per" Week, but I did at least keep the ratio up.
If I hadn't taken the time out to build the framework, I probably would've actually achieved the target a little better
The stats show I was pretty much on top of things up until that point, but then things got slower and slower until my buffer zone was all dried up.
Anyhoo, this is a n...
