Broken GameJolt?

DevelopmentsEver since they updated the server to the new version, there's been oodles of bugs and quirks around the GameJolt site. It's getting so bad that I've now started to receive customer support requests via twitter and email! Not a good sign! If you're seeing the following when trying to play HTML5 based games on GameJolt, it isn't my fault!! DevelopmentsI hate waiting.. And now I'm waiting for 2 sets of people to do their Review thing.. TeamOUYA normally get around to things on a Monday, but with all the chaos going on over there, I'm expecting mid-week at the earliest. Meanwhile, PlayJam could take ages. Their reviews seem to be nice and fast, but the delay between Review and Release is somewhat erratic. My first PlayJam game took about a month from when it was "Passed" to when it became available on the system. But recent "...Views 22, Upvotes 5

DevelopmentsAnd now we have to wait.. Waiting for both OUYA and PlayJam to review and release the Advent collection, at which point I also click the Publish button over at GameJolt, and set about uploading the game to my own archive, too! .. Which reminds me.. The Archive Still doesn't include PlayJam links, does it.. Hmm... Last night I spent a good few hours working on a newer version of my Monkey Skeleton Framework. It's about 50% rejigged, but I'm sure there's oodles more stuff I c...Views 23, Upvotes 8

DevelopmentsOver at Socoder.net, Rychan suggested that I should make a "Bumper Cars" sort of game, whereby you need to whack opponents off a grid. Taking that as a starting point, I figured it was probably a good idea to finally tackle "Thwacking Balls" physics. About an hour or so later, I had a fairly rudimentary ball-physics thing going on, and a nice simple little bumper-ish game going on. "Rolly Balls" won't be unlocked until the 17th December, in the Beta Collexion, so look forward t...Views 19, Upvotes 5

DevelopmentsOh dear.. I only managed about half-a-game yesterday. It started off well, but as I needed more and more art assets, I kinda got lazy, drifted off, and then started playing Words With Friends instead of drawing sprites. Whoops! That's not helping the limited schedule, much. Hopefully I can get the game finished, today, and maybe even move on to the next one. DevelopmentsFeedback from PlayJam suggests that my newest controller code is still causing some kind of lagging ingame, when more than one player's connected at a time. An ultimatum, then. If I can't get it fixed by Monday, then that's it.. I can't fix it, and it's an issue to be dealt with later. I've spent about 2 weeks, straight, trying to solve this one single issue, and I realistically can't keep focussing on it, especially if I'm also trying to get an Advent Calendar AND NeonPlat's C...Views 85, Upvotes 13

DevelopmentsYesterday was spent neatening up Game #1 in the new Advent Collection. Alarmingly, this has taken a fair number of days, as I'm trying to decide how best to organise all the data. The actual "game" still isn't even finished, yet, and needs collisions and scores and.. well.. pretty much everything, really.. Hmm.. DevelopmentsThe first of my games finally passed through PlayJam/GameStick review, yesterday. (Good to know that ONLY took 5 days, even though I was on "the fast track"!! Compare that to the fact that OUYA's reviewed all 5 of the games I've so far uploaded!) A very thorough review, where the only complaints were as follows. 1. If you pause the game, go into the menu, turn off the music, then turn it back on, it doesn't actually restart until you've quit the game. This has been a "feat...Views 24, Upvotes 6

DevelopmentsYesterday I posted a test version of NeonPlat Adventure 2 over on the OUYA Forum, where people could download and test the game, to see how it is in it's current state. Of the two commenters so far, I don't think either of them actually have tried it out, yet, which is a shame because in the world of AGameAWeek, I'm going to be ploughing ahead, and any issues they come up with will probably be out of date by the time they tell me about them! (This is why AGameAWeek is usually done...Views 17, Upvotes 6

DevelopmentsI spent most of yesterday working with the pathfinding AI. The basic idea is that, once the basic level has been generated, an AI player runs through the level, trying to reach the other side. To ensure at least one of these players survives, a fleet of 32 AI players are sent over the level, and each tries to find the "best" way through. The UpgradeYesterday's blog was about an upgrade, and that's pretty much what today's is, too! Windows 10. Initial thoughts Everything is very very very very very very very very white. Even window titlebars are white. It's like someone figured out that White Emulsion is cheapest in bulk, so bought enough to cover the planet. It's THAT white! In fact, there's too much white, and the amount of white with light-grey is really hurting my eyes. I'm having ...Views 27, Upvotes 6

UpgradesAnnoyingly, not the upgrade I was looking for. Yesterday, for some bizarre and unexplainable reason, PaintShop Pro 7 suddenly broke. I'm not sure why it did, and I spent a good hour or so trying to figure it out, including a complete delete and reinstall, only to find the same issue. It's weird, and I'd never seen it ask for a "User Directory" before, but no matter what directory I told it to try, it failed, failed and failed again. I bought PSP7 in a Game store, way way way way b...Views 37, Upvotes 8
