I struggled to get anything new started, today.. I'm not 100% sure why that is. Perhaps I woke up too early, or maybe it's that "End of Project" exhaustion, who knows. I think it's the first time this year, that I've hit that particular wall, and as a result I pretty much just sat about playing games all day, and not actually achieving a damned thing.

When I was building the beta versions of NeonPlat Adventures, it always included a little readme file. The final release didn't have one, but I figured that was ok, because it was so simple it didn't really need one. The original readme was only really there to explain that beta peeps shouldn't mention the Calendar, and then I kinda rambled on a bit! Anyhoo, if you find yourself in desperate need of a readme file, this is it!

Oh yeah, iDev annoys the shit out of me.. Never mind, carry on. Coming up shortly, Jay attempts to reconstruct his level construction gubbins, one line at a time. But not right now. 'cos trying to get a decent speed on that tilem...

AL's been away for a while. I think all the AGameADay stuff might've taken it's toll on him for a bit, there. Today, though, he unexpectedly managed to knock out a fairly decent choon. I like today's tune. Nice and.. um.. nice (URL "https://alodare.tumblr.com/post/7799085732">Antisocial Floating Manoeuvres) Feels good to have AL back to his normal style of music, instead of the absolute garbage he was spewing out last week!

A game? Again? Yup! Made a (URL "https://www.playmycode.com/play/game/jayenkai/not-the-same">nice little mazey thing), where you have to trek around a random maze. The maze isn't hard, but it's one of those nice "harder if you don't do it right!" style of things that I have a knack of making. Not sure why I keep doing those! I just seem to like their insane difficulty! Perhaps, in reality, my games are actually really really piss easy, and it's just me that keeps playing them wrong!? *shrugs*

A nice slow paced shooter this week. Poor old CPC Basic couldn't really handle bullet-hell type games. Well, ok, maybe it could if you really really tried, and came up with a scrolling ascii grid of bullets, but for the most part it just wasn't happening. Instead, Cassette 50 creators had to rely on other ideas. Like trying to kill you with your own desire to kill!!

54 games. Last year I only managed about 30-odd, so I think that's pretty good going. Sure, it might not have truely actually been A Game "Per" Week, but I did at least keep the ratio up. If I hadn't taken the time out to build the framework, I probably would've actually achieved the target a little better The stats show I was pretty much on top of things up until that point, but then things got slower and slower until my buffer zone was all dried up. Anyhoo, this is a nice big lengthy re...

This one didn't really turn out, so well. It's a nice nature based bee game, with lovely floaty music, and some words. You hit Tab to highlight the flower/bee, type it's unscrambled word into Barry's Belly, then hit return. Jayenkai's World Cup Challenge : A plan to do something, rather than sit watching football for 90 minutes each and every day.. --- No fair, I missed yesterday Blame Apple. They sent me my iPhing Dev License, and I spent the day playing about with that, and installing everything again... Nothing productive, just a wasted day. Today is marginally better..

So far, we've had the following.. ... Day 1. (Last Wednesday) Do What?! Wha.!.! Euww.. Visual stuff.. Eeek! Argh!! Day 2. (Thursday) Pissed about with other stuff on my Mac, in a vain attempt to ignore the fact that I had to learn stuff. Days 3-7. (Fri-Sat-Sun-Mon-Tue) Back to AGameAWeek, recompiling all the Blitz stuff, uploading those, fixing up JNKPlat and Gravity Bombs. --- It seems that, no matter how much I want to, I don't actually have all that much iPhing time. Gettin' a wee bit messy, this week, isn't it.. hmm.. Lots going on, and commenting all over the place. Might need to do something about that.. Anyhoo... WarioWare DIY Thanks for the Wario-adds so far, and I'm glad to see there's some interesting games coming out of it. ExciteMike's getting some nice little games going, and I've been playing around with Shadow's little boss thing. Not really sure what was going on with that Platdude tune, though, Jiro!! This is probably going to be the last release There's a couple of new tiles to play with, and 2 extra packs. One (with 12 levels) from me, and one (with 2 and a bit) from StudioFortress. (If you'd like to attempt the third one of those, load it in the editor.. I couldn't get past the flame-pit!) I have a couple of extra tile ideas jotted down, but they don't feel like they'd add anything to the game, so I haven't bothered to add them ...

Because there may or may not have been resulting copyright issues, I've left this post on the backburner until the magazine went off the shop shelves. Usually I'd happily scan in a bit of a page if my games are mentioned, but this time it's a whole entire page, and that's a completely different kettle of fish. (Although, to be fair, I've wr...

Munky's Block is graphically coming along nicely, but unfortunately I've yet to actually start making levels. So far it's all been "Niceness" stuff, and as a result things are lacking a bit. Probably should've stuck to the blocky background like last time. Oh well, no matter. With only one day remaining, I'll be spending tomorrow messing around with the blocks, and trying to come up with some ...

Friday 25th of September 2009 12:15:21 AM Name : Thunderskull 4024 Idea : Sokoban-like game with hex-based grid. OK, first off, not really sure what all the loving of Hexagons is about, but the word Hex is in the suggestion bag about 20-odd times! People appear to really like Hexagons! The Hexagonal Maze is in the archive. It's a half assed game, but I like it. Sokoban kinda needs specific controls, since you have to be able to move ...
