Yesterday, me and Michael Fernie got into a back&forth about AGameAWeek history, the reasons for the creation of old games and whatnot.
He suggested I start some kind of "trip down memory lane" thing, discussing old games and talking about what made me make them. The answer to a LOT of the early AGameAWeek classics is, of course, Wednesday Workshop. Views 188, Upvotes 11

A quick "game" tutorial type thing for a silly little game, created using PetitCom/SmileBASIC on the Nintendo Switch.
If you've grabbed a copy from the Japanese eShop, you should be able to follow along, since the program itself now includes a complete English translation. I'll assume you're using the program with a USB Keyboard attached, but if not, most of the keyboard functionality can be accessed by hitting the [-] button on your controller. From the main menu, hit t... Views 1681, Upvotes 25

Hey there! Could I have the source code for this? The name of this site should give you some idea as to how difficult Centipong is to create from scratch. But just in case, allow me to plot you some points to help guide you along the way. Views 83, Upvotes 20

What a happy title for a card game!!
Fairly complex rules ahead, but it's actually really simple once you get the hang of it. Your aim in this game is to remove all "Pay off" cards from your side of the table. (They're the cards on the bottom left) To do so, move cards onto the Center Piles (the three in the middle), starting from Ace and moving up to Queen. These can be of any suit, and if you place a King, it acts as a wildcard, becoming the next number in the sequence. Y... Views 149, Upvotes 14

You can Play Shoebox of Games here, which are all Mouse/Touch controlled games, which run 100% in the browser. Or you can Play Browsercade here, which are all Keyboard/Gamepad controlled games, for a more Arcade-like experience, but which also run in your browser. @RSKGamesViews 340, Upvotes 21

Menu Coming Together
Blog
17th June 2019
After a couple of days of back&forth, I've finally decided "meh, whatever!" and opted to go for a Coverflow-RipOff style menu.
It actually looks rather nice, and scrolls quite well, except on touchscreens where the thing's a teensy bit dodgy due to co-ordinate issues. But otherwise it works nicely. (Although it isn't "quite" centring properly!) Scroll around, select a game, sorted.. Currently all "games" lead to the exact same test engine, but eventually this will (... Views 66, Upvotes 16
