I'm finally happy with the "Third Time's a Charm" dungeon layout generator.

Sleepy Jay took over, yesterday.
I knew what coding needed to be done, but nothing productive was happening at all.
I tried a few things, including building a nice random dungeon generator, but.. .. Boy, that didn't end up nice, at all!
Today I might scrap what I did, and redo-from-start.

I tried 3 completely different games for "Q", over the course of yesterday, but nothing seemed to be any good.
Instead, I left Q for another day, and moved on to C, at which point a nice ball-rolling game appeared and seemed to work fairly nicely.
This is the second ball-rolling game in the bundle, but hopefully it's different enough to warrant it.
What's becoming a rather worrying trend, however, is that there seem to be a lot of "Move X object through Y rando...

Spent yesterday powering through a quick monster-maze game.
Managed to build a basic dungeon layout builder, got monsters wandering around, and generally made a nice playable little game.

That might change at some point in the future. For now, it'll do as it is.

If last week was an example of a good week, then this week is most definitely the polar opposite!
Welcome to a failed AGameAWeek!!

Feel free to use either of the two titles!
Welcome back!
AGameAWeek starts anew, this week, with a nice little remake of a game I made a good 7 or 8 years ago.
My original "The Quest" game took a board-game-style approach, but never really got very far due to the limits and oddities of trying to play a board game on a computer. It felt strange to have to roll dice all the time, and the battles were never tha...

As week one rapidly approaches, and I'm posting less and less, it's probably apparent that I'm knee deep in the middle of a mega-coding frenzy.
Or, if that's not apparent, let it be known.. I'm knee deep in the middle of a mega-coding frenzy!!
Over the past week or so, I've overhauled quite a few features of my framework, including getting things prepared for OUYA, with controller additions and things like that. I've learned quite a few little bits and pieces about controllers over the last few...

This week, (URL "https://twitter.com/caffeinekid">@CaffeineKid) released his latest Android-based remake, a classic from the world of the 80s!!
A lovely retro game from the age of static screens, and proper dungeon crawling, where the game had to have actual gameplay, because in those days, you couldn't rely on 50 bazillion polygons to wow the audience. You had to have a bloody good game!!!

I'm not very good with "New features" so we'll give this a few weeks before we call it a permanent new feature, but I thought it was about time I start giving shoutouts to some of the other indies and their wonderful games that occasionally blip across my twitter feed, from time to time.

I don't seem to have much luck with dungeon crawlers, do I? Every time I start one, I kinda give up halfway.
This week's "game" (if you can call it that) is yet another unfinished RPG game.
It's all over at PlayMyCode, though, so if you're feeling up to it, perhaps you could delve into the code and bulk it up a bit, turning it into something a little less rubbish.
Either way, I fell out with it pretty early on, and it never got finished to a decent standard.
Boooo!

54 games. Last year I only managed about 30-odd, so I think that's pretty good going.
Sure, it might not have truely actually been A Game "Per" Week, but I did at least keep the ratio up.
If I hadn't taken the time out to build the framework, I probably would've actually achieved the target a little better
The stats show I was pretty much on top of things up until that point, but then things got slower and slower until my buffer zone was all dried up.
Anyhoo, this is a n...

When I first started to think of "A game that uses Badges" the name "Dungeon Badges" stuck in my head, and slowly but surely evolved into Dungeon Badgers.
Over the course of the week (during which I was finishing off Centipong 2) the idea had evolved to include a garden, a house, a cat, and of course.. mushrooms and... arrghh! A snake!
Today's post is a brief description of the game that was in my head, before it got thrown out and replaced with an idea that could be drawn a wee bit quicker!

1. If anyone with an iSomething has the TurfWars app, I'm in there as ROVER546
2. Adverts. I shoved these on about a week ago, and they're not being clicked, but at least they don't seem to be ticking folk off! Google ads are nice and neat, and behave themselves.
If you do find one that does misbehave, let me know! Seriously, let me know!!! Screenshots tell all..
I don't trust 'em, but as long as they're not annoying folk, that's good enough.

This week, Socoder's <a href="https://socoder.net/?Workshop=Challenge&Week=163">Wednesday Workshop (#163)</a> challenge was to create a game with Money in it.
I initially was going to create a top-down dungeon romp, but as the plan grew and grew in scale, I scrapped it and just ended up making a nice quick platformer instead!

Not as many fun little games, this time around, but weeks 61 through 90 brought about a few changes.
For starters, Coders Workshop closed down in week 64, which meant the whole Wed.Workshop thing was without a home. Consequently, I spent most of this period building up the whole Socoder website.. from scratch.. in notepad..
